Fluid intake during the summer

Does anyone feel like they aren't getting enough to drink?  I've been waking up every morning with a slight headache and dying of thirst.  My ankles have been slightly swollen in the evenings.  I've bumped up my fluid intake by about 20 oz. to very close to 100 oz a day.

I don't think I could get any more fluid in me than 100 oz.

Just curious to see if the heat is affecting you.

Most days I've been getting 125 to 150 ozs of water, on the weekends when my routine isn't as set and I don't make 100 I can tell..... usually in the form of severe case of cotton-mouth in the morning....

I know I get dehydrated easily, it's the one thing that's always low when I do my blood tests. DR has always told me to aim for 100 oz a day. Somedays it's easy, others very hard.

For me it's not the heat it's just my body.

I drink more in the summer than I do in fall, winter and spring.  I probably get 80-100 oz. of non-caffeinated beverages through the course of the day.  I also take a quart-size thermal mug up to bed with me and wind up drinking most of it over the course of the night.  I made a conscious effort to bump up my fluid intake about 3 months ago, as I had really slacked off on making sure I was well hydrated.  I definitely feel better when I'm drinking more, so I try to remember to do my best.  I also hate the fluid retention that comes with not drinking enough (talk about something that's counterintuitive!!!), so yet another motivator to drink, drink, drink -

I'm always over 100 oz, so I very rarely feel dehydrated.  On hot days, however, I do seem to require more.

This is a goal that I am working VERY hard on.  Most days I only get 1 1/2 liters and if I work really hard at it I can get in 2 liters.  I feel thirsty when I wake up, I get cotton mouth, and I can feel my ankles starting to swell again (the swelling went down during LD).  I keep trying to sip, sip, sip, but I just don't think that my pouch is big enough yet for more water.

I was just going to ask how much water does it take??  I have been drinking more water than I ever have in my life, the last week, especially today!  I have already had 64 oz. and the cotton mouth is still there!!  This is baffling to me, how much does it take?  I take a drink and I'm full of cotton in 30 seconds.  So if it takes 100oz. I am truly going to float away.  they'll make the incision tomorrow and I'll squir****er!! lol
