Monday Weigh-In
My period started today, so I added a few pounds to the mix. It hasn't helped that I have been the queen of munching this week, but I think all my exercise has evened that out.
surgery weight: 371
last week's weight: 179
this week's weight: 181
The funny thing is, I'm SUPPOSE to gain this week so I will most definitely not be making my goal of 175 for the race. As part of my carb week for my big race Saturday, I am doing 50% carbs through tomorrow, then 70% carbs for the rest of the week and usually that gives you a 2-7 pound weight gain. If I do gain that much, that means I'll be ready for the race since I'll be storing lots of glycogen/water with that gain and it will help me last the whole 12 hours. It's just hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that gaining is a good thing!
Although who knows if I will even me racing - I sprained my knee Saturday and can't exactly run. I can walk, but very slowly. As long as I don't get worse I will be racing - about 60% of it is kayaking and biking, which is ok on my knee. The hiking portions will be really slow, but I plan on doing it no matter what (can you say tylenol?). No way am I missing out on this!

My second week. And let me say....the surg has been worth it already....I am already off High BP meds and was off diabetes meds during preop!
Today I was released for full liq, including soup....if its pulvarized. Well I stopped at Chili's on the way home and got 3 cups of soup. I have so been craving savory.....most everything I have been having is sweet.
Well..I got to the parking lot..and I couldn't help myself....I very carefully had a spoon of each (making sure to get the truely "soupy" parts...and WOWZA ...talk about ******ic eating! I had 3 spoonsfulls and was stuffed...but it was so satisfying!
I have also lost 6 more lbs...so I am excited about that too!

Hey, Kix,
Are we ever going to get off this friggin' plateau? I am THE SAME. (actually lost the two pounds I'd gained with TOM...!!!!
wish someone had an answer...eating too much? eating too little....too many carbs...not enough carbs...,exercising too much for calorie intake????? WHAT????????
According to BMR I should be in a calorie deficit of about 300 a day NOT counting my exercise.
Frustration is building----I see a ten day liquid diet in my future---hello, cream of asparagus soup!

I just wanted to thank everyone for posting their successes, stalls, and setbacks. I'm also glad to see the new folks losing so well (and wishing I was back in the days when I could drop 6 lbs a week because all I could eat was 2 oz of food).
To the losers, keep up the good work. For those of us temporarily struggling, here's hoping we find a way to shift things soon!
Hugs to all,
Kix
