I was in the hospital 6 times the first year after surgery, sick all the time, and have hypoglycemia, and all I can say is  -  I'd do it all over again!

This surgery saved my life. I often stop to think how bad I'd be now if I hadn't lost 195 pounds?

I'll always be thankful for this surgery! I'm sorry you feel the way you do.

Best wishes to you.

I'm sorry you're one of the folks who had issues after surgery; it's a risk we all take, but hope that it doesn't happen to us.  Although hypoglycemia it unpleasant, I've read posts by several people who are managing it quite well, even though they have to be very attentive to what they eat and how often they eat.  But with some effort, these folks are managing it quite well - I hope the same is true for you some day.

You say you're sick all the time; do you have more specific information than that?  Many of us have faced and conquered complications, food issues, vitamin/nutrition deficiencies, constipation issues, etc., so if you're willing to share some more information, perhaps folks can offer advice about things that might help improve your quality of life.

Lastly, I'd encourage you to start looking for some positive things about where you are now.  If you allow yourself to become mired down in the negative, it can often lead to a downward spiral that's unhealthy on many levels.  Try looking for some good things in life too - I suspect they are there, just waiting to be discovered -

Good luck on your continuing journey -

hi marlena

i'm sorry you're having problems. i, too, have the episodes of hypoglycemia, but have learned to manage them pretty well. what other issues are you dealing with that are making you sick?

i'm apparently one of the lucky ones! i'm very happy with the results of having an RNY -- i wish i could share some of my joy with you!

I was lucky enough to be complication-free post RNY.  I imagine having complications sucks, as I was in the hospital five times in a year with repeated cellulitis infections.  It gets frustrating getting sick over and over again.  Happily, the doctors finally found a way to keep my cellulitis under control, and I think losing so much weight was a big part of it.

Is your doctor helping you manage your hypoglycemia?

My life is better post-WLS, and here's hoping your issues resolve as mine have and you can be happy as a post op!

Hugs,
Kix
