2 years ago today my life changed!

Today is my 2 year surgiversary, and boy oh boy has this been one amazing journey!

The road has been full of potholes, but I've made it past them all and am very very happy I had this surgery! My life has changed so much in the things I can do and the things I want to do. Don't get me wrong, I was happy before surgery, I think I'm a happy person overall, but not carrying around an extra 195 pounds everyday just makes me smile even more than before.

Two years ago I was wearing a tight size 34/36 or 5-6x, today I'm wearing size 12 and 14's.  Who would have guessed it? Certainly not me, I never would have believed I'd do this well, but I did and I'm proud of it!

For all of you just starting know that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. I'm proof!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the past two years, it's helped make the road a little smoother!

Congrats... I am very happy for you, actually for all of us who undertook this route to a healthier and happier life. I unlike you was very unhappy before, I fooled myself into thinking that I was happy..saying things like "I like staying home on the weekends and doing nothing but eating and watching tv" but now that I have so many more options, its fantastic.

I didn't let my weight stop me if I could help it. For my 40th birthday all 350+ pounds of me went para-sailing while on vacation in Venezuela.  I figured I didn't know anyone there, they'd never see me again and I always wanted to do it. The boat driver hooked up a special rope to help me stay tied in and off I went. It was one of the best things I've ever done.

I had my couch sitting, not walking, holding others back times of life, but overall I was still happy. Did I like my apperance, NO, did I like the way others looked at me, NO, and yes, maybe I too convinced myself I was happy.

Being healthier not having daily aches and pains is enough to make anyone happier. This surgery was a life saver for me!
