well had a busy stressfull and hard week. My Uncle passed away in Broomfield Colorado a week ago. It was a hard week. We Packed up our Van to the 12 hour drive to Grand Junction and then the 4 hour drive to broomfield the next day. Monday we had the funeral and Tuesday we stayed with the family and Wendsday we did the whole Sixteen hour drive back so I could be at work today. In the process of all this I was not a good WLS candidate. I was naughty forgot my protien in the packing hast. When I got to Broomfield I did not eat well. I stayed to high protein foods but probaly ate more than I normal and not all of it was low fat. now here is the weird part I dropped 5 pounds anyway. Has anyone dropped weight just being stressed?????? don't worry I am back on track and am not going to eat like this normaly but I found it strange.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, and had I known you were in the area, I'd have stopped by to say HI even though it was a sad occasion for your family.

This tool is indeed weird!  It works, though, so I don't question it.

Sending hugs your way!

You got out of your rut and changed your eating habits and your body reacted.

One of the things that I do when i get stuck and am traveling is to buy the Slim Fast low carb protein drinks.  They are about 180 calories, 20 g protein and about 6 g of carbs.  They aren't too bad and it keeps me in check.  I also rely on my south beach diet high protein bars for breakfast.  So if I'm stuck, between those two, I've got 1/2 of my protein for the day.

Glad you are back on track and hopefully you'll get some rest after that monster trip!

Diana - Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Sometimes our bodies need a change and more fat. It's good to change up every so often. I'll bet you didn't eat as bad as you think you did, and the weight loss goes to show it.

Welcome back. I have a girlfriend living in Broomfield, that's a heck of a long drive.

Sorry to hear about your uncle's passing...
Yes, this tool is a weird one and even when we aren't doing our best you can still see results, or on the flip side you could be working extra hard and see no results.  But I'll take it!!

Sorry to hear about your uncle.  I'm sure that it was a difficult time for you and your family.  It sounds like you were quite mindful about the food choices that you made while you were out of town and sure, there could have been better choices, but as long as you're making the best ones for the circumtsances you really can't ask for more.  Best wishes as you get back into your routine.

Sorry for your loss!  I wish I could say stress made me lose, but usually (in the pre-WLS days...thats what always set off my bad eatting habits!  Glad to hear you are back on track. Travelling is always difficult. Routine is so much safer, huh?  HUGS  Jeanine
