I've been stuck at home the past few days while the contractor works on the downstairs bathroom.  I'll be glad when it's done, I hate sharing the upstairs bathroom with my sister, she's kind of a pig in terms of not keeping the bathroom tidy.

My weight is better this week, but still not where I want it.  I plan to be more aggressive about mindful eating, and making sure not to nosh when I'm not truly hungry.

Beginning weight: 530 lb

Surgery weight: 407 lb

Last week: 230 lb

This week: 224 lb

A great week for you, Kix - keep up the good work.  Mindful eating is the way to go (says the woman who's spent the past 3 days drinking like a fish...).  Hopefully you'll stay focused on your plan and push yourself past this 220-something hump you've been going back and forth on!!!  I know you can do it

You had a good loss this week congratulations! I never realized that we started out so close in weight...I have been kinda discouraged lately about being able to get under 200 ...sometimnes it just seems impossible you know...I purchased a tredmill for home... i'm very excited about it...the elipical machine but the dust about a month ago...so we have had no equipment at home at all...

Your weekend sounds like a blast, Estelle!

Yeah, we started out at almost the same weight.  It was really a challenge for me to get below the 220s - I got "stuck" there for 3-4 months and really had to look hard at what I was doing to get things moving again.  I had to bump up my exercise, bump up my protein, be careful about my fat intake, and scale back on my carbs.  I think the exercise was really the key, as I finally got things moving again when I started strength training on a regular basis.

I lost about 150 pounds in the first year after my surgery, then it took another year to lose 30 more pounds, and I've lost another 20+ pounds in the past 9 months.  It's much slower now, but still doable.  Just be patient and keep doing the right things  and you'll see a "1" on the scale!!!

Kellie, thanks for keeping this thread going.  I get encouraged by seeing others lose and feel supported when others are stuck like I've been for the past two weeks.

The scales finally moved for me again but of course, they played the evil trick of keeping me in the 270's which my body always seems to do.  Why can't it just drop that extra 1/2 pound to move into another digit?  Ah...it's what I get for abusing my body for so many years.

Surgery Weight 371

Last week 272

This week 270

Finally 100 pounds lost from my surgery weight!!!!
