Gym is Open (Thursday 7/10)

The gym is open a bit late today, sorry about that.  No exercise for me, I have to be home while the contractor works on the downstairs bathroom.  I may at least do "Sit and Be Fit" or if I'm feeling particularly daring, my sister's "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD that tears up my knees. What did you do to move your body today? Kix

I ran sprints for 23 minutes, then tackled the rowing machine for 30 minutes. Man, that gives me a good workout! Hopefully it will translate over to the kayaking portion of my race. That's it for today - I'm tired and my back hurts for some reason, so I plan on going home after work, taking a hot bath and going to bed around 7pm.

Hi, Kix.  I did lower body strength training and some core work at lunch.  Am meeting one of my girlfriends after work to (hopefully) buy running shoes, then I'm going to cut my grass and do some other yard work.  It's gorgeous outside, so I'd rather do the yard work than go back to the gym at the end of the day -

I did 40 minutes of intervals on the treadmill - I alternated between 2.5mph/2%incline and 3mph/6% incline.

Oops, found out that I wasn't supposed to swim yesterday while I still had stiches when I was @ docs office today to get stiches out.  Ok beat me! I'm going to ride my bike when I get home for about 1/2 hour or until my butt goes numb, whichever comes first.

I did what I'd guess you consider my first bit of formal exercise.  We ended up maked an impromptu visit to the park so I attempted to see how far I could walk.  I was impressed with the speed and distance I was able to walk, but I had no flip flops so I couldn't really do much given that I could feel the blisters forming under my feet.  I have enough with this body revolting against me, I sure don't need to add insult to injury by causing myself blisters!
