duh, I just posted then realized it went right under my original post.

I am 5 ft 6 inches and 186 kilo or about 410 pounds.  It is so great to hear that so many are doing fantastic after WLS surgery.  I am not sure my surgeon does the duodenal, but I remember on my first visit he gave me a choice of 3 and one of them didnt have a stomach.  At that moment that particular surgery was the furthest from my mind =)  So I am hoping that it was the BPD.  I will find out on my next surgeons visit on the 15th exactly how much I weight and what surgery we are going to do.

Hi Laelle, I had the Duodenal Switch almost 11 months ago and have been very happy with my choice. You will fine this board to be wonderfully supportive no matter what your surgery. Please feel free to check my profile and read about my journey with the DS. We look forward to hearing from you. So cool to live in France.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes, I feel very lucky to have you guys and this website to help me and others get through this.  Unless there are complications I will be having the RNY sometime in September, if there are he will do the sleeve and schedule another date and finish up with the duodenal.  ok, so I guess this is the beginning of the new beginning for me, glad I can take you guys along with me.
