Bra advice

So last night I went to the mall to find a shirt for a TV show that we are taping next thursday.  They sent an e-mail and said they installed new lighting and Black, White, Red and Grey would not be good choices.  Bummer, because I had bought a pretty red linen/rayon blend shirt/jacket already. So I sauntered into Lane Bryant and it's still not my favorite store.  I didn't really shop there before surgery because they are so pricey, and all I could buy was shirts because their pants weren't big enough. I decided to get measured because they still had the bra sale going on, buy one get one 50% off.  I was measured in December and was a 48DD (I still wore 42DD after that - no way I'm wearing a 48!)  So she measured me and I'm down to a 40D.  I knew something was changing in that department! So she gave me a couple of bras to try on.  One was a low cut with cookies in the side to push your boobs together as if plus sized girls need any more help in that department!  The other was the balconette bra.   I got my girls tucked in to the plunge bra and there was so much under arm fat hanging over the bra strap under the arm.  Ewwww.  Tried on the balconette and like what it did for the girls much better, but the arm fat spillage was much worse. I told Dawn that I like the curvation bras that Queen Latifa promotes.  They are molded cup and underwire and look great under t-shirts.  And, they are lower cut on the sides.  I'm just glad the cup size didn't go down.  But a 48DD to a 40D that's a big difference! I walked out and looked at all their bras on display.  They are all very high cut under the arm.  I'm sure that it helps with coverage, but does anyone else have the arm fat spillage stiuation going on?

Their padded balconette works well for me, probably the most comfortable bra I've worn and does good things for the ladies.  The only problem I have with most LB bras is that even at their tightest the bra straps are usually too lose on me.  I don't have the arm fat issue, sorry.  I am very short though, so the sides of bras are usually plenty tall for me, or even too wide sometimes.  I tend to look for medium width sides on bras.  Avenue has a nice line of bras - they have a seamless padded bra that I love but its too pricey with sizes changing all the time, and Catherines sometimes has good ones too.  I am down from a 46G to a 40DDD or 42DD now.

You know, this just goes to show you how you "settle" when you are SMO.  I have never even thought about arm spillage.  For that matter, I didn't realize there were so many "types" of bras.  So far I've mainly worn some old bras I had in storage.  I was up to a 50C (yeah, I should say I used an extender with 48C).  I did buy a 42C Playtex (with the dumb seam in it) because it was on sale, but I am almost to a B cup.  I'm envious of you guys!!  A B CUP???!!! I also bought one Avenue seamless which was on sale and I had a 40% off coupon, which really puts the girls at attention.  I did go to the curvation website as I am really interested in checking them out.   I'll have to report after I try my first one on.   This sure is such a learning process as you lose the weight.   Happy 4th weekend! -Dawn
