Questions about getting the surgery

Well here I am again still got no where today. I tell you I called my medical and they said if Medicare don’t pay then they will. Well I called them back to tell them that, and they shut me down the moment I told them that, well your psychosis was denied well why didn’t they tell me that first? No they are lying to me, and they said that im not the not the only one…well is that suppose to make me feel better? F**k that I'm going somewhere else.,

hi ericia,  my pcp got me started. she told me what hospital to go too.  im have medicare too. i havent been approve yet because i havent finish all the testes the surgeon wants me to have. you need to find another doctor. but medicare do require that you do a 6 mos. diet program before you can get approve. i hope you the best of luck.  sweetheart59   i live in maryland so maybe each state is different when it comes to medicare.

Man sounds like you need a better doctor. I went to a seminar that my doctor was having, they collected insurance information and called and verified my coverage and within a week I knew that my insurance would pay for all of the surgery except 500 dollars which I had to pay for out of pocket expense. They also told me that I would have to attend 3 months of nutriotional/doctor supervised weight loss and a psych consult. I have done 1 month almost of weight mgmt and then the psych consult and after that he said that approval would take a week or so and surgery to follow as soon as I was ready. Maybe its just lucky that I went to a great place, but I am sure that there is a way to find out what they will and won't cover.... maybe find a doctors office that has someone like mine (bariatric coordinator) that can answer your quesitons about what the medicare processes are in your state. thank you very much for this information. I just went to get Kaiser and I’M just going to do there program. I called them and they answer all my question unlike the other office they where so rude. there is not that many offices that take Medicare medi-cal so now im not going to worry. It mite take longer but im going to have this surgery.
