For the past 4 days now I've been realy nauseous and not felt good at all---haven't really ate anything but have been drinking.  I called my PCP this morning and he wanted me to come in at 2 to see what the problem was---so to make a long convo short he thinks I'm loosing too much weight too fast.  REALLY?? Is there such a thing??  I am still in shock---I don't really know what my goal is from my surgeon but I thought losing 194 lbs in 5 months was damn good!!!  He sent me to get some lab work and a urine test (I couldn't pee--I never can) so I guess I'll find out the results next week.  He said maybe I'm malnutritioned---THAT I can see but losing too much weight too fast???  Eh I'm still not too sure about that one.  I go back to Indiana next month for my 6 month check up with my surgeon so hopefully she'll have some answers for me.  Seriously can you loose too much too fast??? ~Angie!

Yeah you could lose too fast, but at this point your main goal is to lose weight so its hard to say how much is too much.  And the heavier you start, the faster it will fall off.  200lbs in 5 months is a lot of weight to lose, for sure but you started larger than most people who have the surgery, so who knows if its normal?  Your surgeon is probably the only one who can answer that.  If you aren't feeling good and are having trouble eating you might me malnourished, dehydrated, or having issues with being in ketoacidosis for so long, etc.  Its hard on your body to burn fat, and it produces a lot of toxins that have to be peed out, so are you drinking enough?  How often are you peeing?  How many calories are you eating?  How much protein?  How much do you drink?  I hope you feel better soon and that your lab work comes out ok.

How the heck have you been keeping your clothes from falling off of you!  Your loss in five months is the most I've ever heard of!  WOW I don't know what's too much or two little.  I think it has alot to do with each type of person and what your starting weight was.  Just work alongside your doctor to make sure your levels of everything are okay and you aren't having any issues.  I hope the nauseas lets up.  Try as much a you can to get some food in, you need to keep that body fueled.  :)

How much are you drinking?  Being dehydrated will make you nauseous.  I think your PCP is using his head checking your labs.  Let us know how your results are.  How much are you able to eat on average on a given day?  You certainly can't continue to go days without eating.  I hope you feel better soon.  Loris

I think of Jackie on Discovery Health who was extremely large when she had her surgery and she was suffering from malnutrition.  I think the title of the show was the 600 pound woman.  Anyway, she was in the hospital for a long time dealing with the malnutrition. I pray your labs are good and it's just your body trying to catch up with the rapid weight loss.
