Last night while adding pics on here. I came across 1 from about a year ago and i am so shocked and embarrased by how big i was.... I cried and told my hubby that i am so happy and blessed to have had this surgery. I had complications and cant eat sometimes but i would do it over in a heartbeat. But i cant beleive i was so huge. The day of my surgery i weighed 509 and now im at 394  . I get dicouraged and think i should have lost more by now but when i seen those pics i realized the change ive made, i was shocked at the diffrence.. Im so happy with the decision to start my life over.

Sometimes it's good to look back - it keeps us in check and stops us from ever going there again. Don't be embarrased, just remember that picture when you think about eating something you shouldn't. You're doing great! I'm very proud of you.

You are doing wonderfully!  That is an incredible amount since Feb.  I had my surgery on 2/21.  Because I know I don't see myself accurately, I decided to take pictures every month (at least for the 1st 6 months.).   Helps me realize my blessings. -Dawn

Those are wonderful numbers! You should be very proud.  I hope you are keeping track of your measurements.  I just posted mine on my profile since I am now 7 months out. My weight loss has slowed down a bit but looking at the measurements from 9 months ago, its amazing!  Keep up the good work. I wish you health & happiness.  HUGS  Jeanine

Don't ever get discouraged, just take it as a reminder of where you never want to be again.  Keep taking new pics and with each one you will see how much you are changing.  CONGRATS on your progress so far!!  :)

You are blessed to have this surgery and as you can already see it's changing your life for the better.  I know that the truth of the past can be difficult to face, but you have to remember that it is behind you now and you are *never* going back to that place. You're doing fantastic with your weight loss.  Your numbers are an inspiration to me since I'm only 1 week post-op.  I'm happy right now with my numbers, but as I begin to eat solid food again I worry if the weight loss is going to stop  and I'm just meant to be seriously obese my whole life.  When I read this thread I looked at everyone's pictures.  Almost everyone who has posted here is around 6 months out or less and you all have lost fantastic amounts of weight and you all look so much better for it!  I can't wait to see myself in such a short amount of time.    I know that without this surgery I probably would have hit the 500 pound mark in the next year or less.

My goodness, you are doing great!  I assumed from your post that you lost the weight in a year.  As I read on I realized it was about 4 and a half months.  How could you expect better than that?  Keep it up!  Loris
