Psych Eval--3hrs?????
Have you taken the MMPI-2 already? If not, that's probably where most of the time will go. Otherwise, I'm not sure why it would take 3 hours. I took the MMPI-2 on one occasion and then went back for the rest of the eval a couple of weeks later. In that 1 hour session the therapist asked me about my family life, my support system, my current stressors, my eating/ weight loss history, how my weight has impacted my socially, what my understanding of the risks/benefits of surgery were and how I planned to cope with unforseen complications, etc. It was a pretty benign meeting. Expect a therapy referral though if you have issues with binge eating or a lot of stressors that may factor into your recovery from weight loss surgery. Good luck to you.

There were two long "tests" to take before my appt - the MMPI and then an eating disorders test. Those took a long time to finish, my actual time with the psychologist was maybe a half hour.
If i remember correctly, mine took about 2.5 hours. I had to fill out paperwork, do a one on one session with the intake associate, do a two on one session with the intake associate and the psychiatrist and then do an hour long test. It was brutal. Best of luck.
