~ Newbie ~

Hi Everyone! I posted on the other forum and Kathy S. was kind enough to direct me here. I live in Wisconsin and am 44 years old and the mother of a 20 year old son and a almost 2 year old daughter. My children are almost 19 years apart in age!  My BMI is 60.  I have completed all of my pre-ops and my records were sent to my insurance carrier yesterday. I am waiting for my approval and surgery date now. I will have to go on the 14 day liquid diet before surgery and have been trying out some different protein shakes and trying to change my diet before I have to go on the liquids. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello!

Sorry I hadn't made it over to this forum to see that you are here too!!  Glad you found us, this site is great!!

Someone posts a weekly weight in on Mondays, that really helps to see everyones progress!

Glad to have you, and your spot on the losers bench is waiting for you!!

Welcome Luvey, This is the best forum on the site. The people here are great and very supportive. I have learned so much and been inspired by all of the  stories here. Everyone has a great sense of humor as well...which I think is essential. I am about at the same level as you. I just got my date last week. My surgery date is 6/30. I too started with a BMI of 60.  I hope you get your approval quickly and join me on our walk (or run) to the losers bench! Denise  

Hi, Luvey, and welcome to our little corner of the internet.  I think you'll find this to be a super supportive and friendly forum.  No flaming, no negativity - just friendly folks trying to help other friends folks on their journies.   I hope your insurance approval comes quickly, and that a surgery date follows close behind.  Waiting can be tough, but you'll make it through!   Keep us posted on your progress, and feel free to ask questions -  Kellie

Welcome Luvey!  It will be great to have another person join us.  I hope that your approval comes quickly and that you are telling us a surgery date soon.  I, too, live in Wisconsin, but on the western border closer to the Twin Cities right now.  I'm originally from the Green Bay area though.

I occasionally lurk in the Oregon forum, but spend most of my time here too. For those of us with longer journeys, it is so reassuring to talk to others who have travelled a similar road. Welcome!
