No exercise for me today.  I tried the stair climber at the gym yesterday and was five minutes into it (and enjoying it, too) when I felt something pop.  My knee is sore, I think I did something to the knee joint.  Sigh.  It feels like a sprain. I'm now walking like Chester from Gunsmoke (for those of you old enough to remember Chester).  I have a job interview this afternoon, so I'm hoping not to obviously hobble into the place.   What did you do to move your body today? Hey, hobble on in, employers get a tax break for hiring the disabled.... I did 30 mins on the elliptical again.... I think I'm stuck in a rut....

While they might get a break for hiring the disabled, they don't because of the extra costs for health insurance!    I should be stuck in your rut, good job on the elliptical! Kix

I hope your sore knee is feeling better soon - it's frustrating to try something new and get hurt.  Good luck with the interview this afternoon - I'll send positive energy your way, with hopes for a great result.   My exercise for the day is the usual 2-a-day:  upper body strength training and core work at lunch, then 50-60 minutes of cardio after work.  My sunburn is feeling better, so I think I'll be able to do my upper body workout with minimal pain.   Kellie

Kix - I hope that you recover quickly and that your interview goes well today. This thread is always such an inspiration to me.  I can't wait until I can pick up the pace of my activity level.  I did one of my long walks yesterday, but then my insides started giving me trouble and I couldn't do more.  I have to remind myself that 1) I'm still less than 1 week post-op and 2) I weigh over 400 pounds and haven't exercised in years so I can't just run a marathon today.  Given that, I'm going to do some shorter bursts of walking and get back to trying to focus on moving often, and not just moving a lot in one dose.

Oww! that sounds painful - I've been pretty lucky so far to have not hurt too much (if you don't count my mountain biking in Moab and breaking a tailbone) but I think it would drive me crazy not to be able to do something! Take care of yourself hon - get that ice and heat ready. I had my spinning class with my Yoda inspired instructor - today we had a lecture on our resting heart rate and then while doing sprints he told us to imagine that our house is on fire and we need to rush home - this guy is such a crack up (and yes, he still has a cute butt)

i exercised this morning. it consisted of shoving a pill down my cats throat about 5 times before she swallowed it followed by my liquid medicine. MUCH FUN!

Telework day means swimming. I really need to move my body, but haven't been to the pool in a week. I know my situation (doing Medifast) is different that WLS, but did anyone have trouble with energy levels when doing their liquid diet phase (or something similar)? I seem to be needing much more sleep than I did before and I'm tired quite a bit. Being so tired makes it harder to be motivated to exercise. Edited to add: I did get my butt to the pool. Swam 30 laps instead of 40. Then went to Fred Meyer and bought 4 flats of bedding annuals. There were no riding carts, so I walked all around the garden area - several times! My feet are really sore. I better take some ibuprophen & elevate for a while.

Yes, when I was on Optifast, I had days where I was worn to the bone.  Are you taking vitamins? Kix

I wasn't taking vitamins before, but I just started yesterday on hubby's suggestion. (Great minds think alike) Also took an EFA supplement. I'm not sure if it was the vitamins, the extra sleep I've been trying to get or the moon, but I did have more energy yesterday. Hopefully today will be good too. Thanks for the response. How long were you on Optifast? Patty
