The 2nd appt. down one more to go.  YIPPPEE!!!! I was also weighed today and I lost another 10 pounds.  Today  She was really happy that I was continuing to lose, so she just wanted me to continue to work on not drinking with my meals and chewing my food well.  I reminded her that I was having the DS but she said that Dr B has the same protocol for RNY and DS.  I just agreed and moved on to another topic. I know that I just need to get through these NUT appointments so I can have surgery.  ONE STEP CLOSER! Congrats on being down another 10 pounds - it can be hard to lose as a pre-op and you are doing a great job.  Keep it up - every pound you lose makes it easier for your surgeon to operate, as there will be less fat tissue in your abdomen that he needs to move around to do the surgery.   I'm confused by the fact that your surgeon has the same protocol for RNY and DS.  Although I do not know much about the DS, I thought there were different dietary guidelines to follow with that procedure.  Anyway, I'm sure you've done your research and know what you need to do!   Keep us posted on your progress -  Kellie

They are completly different surgeries.  I know my surgeon is one of the ten best in the world at the Ds, but his NUTs are not the greatest.  I have been told this by several of his previous DS patients.  I will just smile and nod and read my information from other sources.  I am prepared and have lots of support so I am not worried.
