Barilla Plus

OK, still obsessing about food, but whatever....as long as I stay on track it will pass. Anyway, do any of you eat Barilla Plus pasta?  I had it a few times pre-op and liked it and pasta is not discouraged through my surgery center, but I don't want to fill up on simple carbs either.  I'm wondering about using this pasta in small amounts in some foods to just give it that "carby" taste.

This is the only pasta my surgeon's practice would encourage patients to eat.  Except they encourage Barilla Plus in the yellow box.  It is high in protein.

It all depends on your pouch. I wanted pasta and bought some, but my pouch is not a fan of startches. A couple bites and I was done. Actually I've found it to be true that the less carbs you eat the less your body craves them. Now I know carbs are brain food and we need them, but 95% of mine come from beans, fruits and veggies.

I have eaten barilla plus and like it.  That is my favorite actually, but I mainly do Ronzoni now because its high in fiber and since I don't like it as much I'm not as tempted to eat a lot of it.  If I add pasta or rice to something its like you mentioned, small amounts.  1 cup of cooked rice or pasta for an entire meal (say serving 6 maybe).  It doesn't bother my pouch but its not something I want to eat much of either.  I also eat lasagna, but I usually eat the filling and then maybe only a bite or two of pasta.

I am pre-op still but I have heard a lot of good talk about Dreamfields after surgery.  I have tried it pre-surgery and I think it is very good for low carb.  Just a thought. Jennifer

This is the only pasta that I buy.  I can eat a small amount of it, and will make a sauce that has lots of shrimp and scallops in it, and I really enjoy that meal!  My dh is a diabetic and this pasta does not raise his blood sugar levels.

I make it for my husband and he likes it.  I just can't eat any of it because I fill up on protein and veggies first. But I can eat it.
