Tired of chewing?  Ya know, I don't think I've thought of it in those terms.  I think I'm more tired of cold food.  I think my preference for hot food was one of the reasons I ate fast.   Well today is going to be ambitious.  I'm going with the girls to an Indian buffet.  I'm going to order Chicken Tikka ahead of time off the menu and hope for the best. B - yogurt, lf chz stick S - milk L - chicken S - milk D - baked chicken parm  -Dawn

Not tired of chewing here, but my household is in a serious food rut.  I've been eating frozen dinners because I just can't think of anything I want to eat.  I'm honestly tired of trying to come up with ideas of things to do for dinner...  Anyway, here's what's on my plate today (at least the parts I know):  updated 6/18 to add rest of info from Tuesday -

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 c. low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, 2 large, diced strawberries, 2 oz. blueberries

[workout #1:  yoga (if the sunburned shoulders can handle it!)]

Lunch:  salad w/ romaine, matchstick carrots, alfalfa sprouts, ~4 oz. grilled chicken, 4 tbsp. light raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing

Snack #2:  1 c. Dannon light & fit vanilla yogurt, 1/4 c. Bob's Red Mill Mueslix, 2 large, diced strawberries, 2 oz. blueberries

Snack #3:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese, alfalfa sprouts

[workout #1:  60 minutes of cardio]

Snack #4:  post-work apple

Dinner:  5 oz. broiled delmonico steak, 1 1/2 c. steamed veggies

Snack #5:  Starbucks mocha bar, ~1 oz. dark chocolate

Total calories: 2161

Jenn- Your question made me laugh!  I would give anything to chew right now.  I can't believe that there will come a time when I was sick of chewing!  Ahhh, there's always something.    I found myself hungry last night when I went to bed so I need to postpone my dinner a bit and I think I need to eat a bit more (still trying to familiarize myself with pouchie).  But, still on liquid diet, and still can't handle milk so SF pudding it is x3 today.  Friday I get to try solids -eggs, cheese, and peanut butter.  Can't wait!  I get to chew!

I'm eating worse than I ever have last few weeks , munching, not enough protein, i don't think i'm eating enough and here it is noon and not only did I not eat breakfast but I have no plans for lunch ..I know I need to eat but i have an apointment at 1230 so I cant leave .....but when they leave i will go get some food....i'm saying this openly so i go do it...do you ever just feel like not eating? its all new to me...I have this weird food guilt going on ...like I ate water melon this weekend for the first time I ate alot of it really....normaly it would be a good thing to for me to have eaten watermelon instead of all the crap food at the camp ground but instead of feeling good about what I did i felt guilty for not choosing a protein rich food...not guilty enough to eat the protein food mind you.....I for sure have some issues I need to deal with...Its almost like the surgery has made food more the center piece of my life than it was before and that it the hardest part for me to deal with....am I alone?

Watermelon is yummy, don't feel guilty, its mostly water anyway, and you get some fiber.  I can eat a lot of watermelon or cantaloupe too - I have to be careful about dumping though.  And yeah, sometimes I feel like not eating.  Different surgeons have different opinions on that - there is one group here that says if you don't feel like it, don't eat.  You are supposed to be learning to listen to your body.  Other surgeons, of course, would explode at that - protein protein protein.  You don't want to lose muscle, so protein first lady!  BUT if you don't feel like eating sometimes, I personally think its OK to skip a meal now and again.  Maybe I just think its ok because I do it :) Just make sure you drink plenty!  I felt at first like food was more the center of my life post-op - and I didn't like it.  I am getting over that somewhat, and I hate to say it but its mainly because of the Zoloft.  It hasn't helped my anxiety all that much so far, but its made a big difference in my food obsession.  If only I'd known this years ago!  Now I can take it or leave it, I don't have the urge to munch as often.  *big hugs*  Eat something!
