Good morning/afternoon all!  I hope you are doing well and feeling well and sticking to your food plan today.  Remember, even if you mess up, every day is a new day to try to get it right.  I had a good weekend, but I am super sleepy today.  I am trying to be chipper and perky but geez Louise I can't seem to sleep enough these days! I also started a new bc pill yesterday (Femcon) and I think its making me feel kinda funky.  I had weird hot flashy things all day yesterday and this morning when I took it I was completely sick to my Thundercles.  The last thing you want to do is upchuck the birth control pill.  Its minty, and I am thinking maybe pouchy doesn't like mint in the morning - I've been waiting till after lunch to brush my teeth everyday for the very same reason. Here is my food plan for the day - B - I had fast food (gasp) but it wasn't too bad - I ate the beans and cheese from 2 bean and cheese breakfast taco's (so about 2/3c refried beans, 1/4c cheddar cheese, and 2tbsp of delicious salsa) L - 16oz mootopia milk, 1 packet NSA carnation instant breakfast S - 16oz Silk vanilla soy plus fiber, 1/2 mango, 1/2 banana, and ice mixed into a smoothie D - Chicken teriyaki stir-fry - chicken breast, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, edamame, carrot, snow peas, and baby bok choy with teriyaki sauce.  I'll also make a fried brown rice with some soy, egg, regular peas, carrots, onion, and garlic.  I probably will have a bite or two of rice, but mostly the meat and veggies I am too lazy to figure out the calories for my recipe today, but I think its a balanced day.  If I feel like I need more protein at the end of the day I'll have another glass of milk.  Happy Monday!

Wonder what's up with you and being sleepy?  Maybe you need a vacation to recover from your vacation (that's always how I feel when I go, go, go on vacation).  Hope the new pill settles better tomorrow - not a fun way to start the day....  No worries about the fast food - as long as you make decent choices, I don't think fast food is inherently evil.  And sometimes it's just the easiet thing to do.   I've had two good weeks in a row, and am heading for a third.  So here's what's on my plate today:

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

I don't know - I sleep a lot heavier and longer since surgery, but I'm often still sleepy.  Blood work is fine so I think my body is just working hard and maybe catching up on a decade of bad sleep or something.  I probably could stand to eat a little more on workout days too, and I keep a weird schedule, which just confuses my body even more.  I've pretty much just learned to obey the urge and take a nap if I need to.  Usually it happens most when I am about to lose more, and I lose in my sleep.  Its not so much physical tiredness anymore like it was early out from surgery, its just sleepy feelings - when my head hits the pillow I am OUT most nights.

Nothing really exciting here... B:  1/2 C Fruit stuff (SF pudding made with milk, cottage cheese, vanilla yogurt, Splenda sweetened fruit, scoop of protein powder; mix all together and chill - @ 10 g of protein for 1/2 C) L: Wendy's chili with onions and cheese - 19 g of protein S: 1 C milk with NSA Carnation Instant Breakfast    14 g  (either before dinner or before bed) D: 3 oz. chicken thigh and veggies                     16 g

59 g of protein for the day.  My NUT says 10 g of protein for every month out of surgery. So I'm short one gram of protein...oh well.

Since I am starting to eat a little, I guess I will start posting. I start my day with water.  For lunch I am eating about 2 tablespoons of what I call Italian puree'.  Got the recipe from Egg Face's blog.  Not sure the calorie content nor the protein amounts based on my portions, but at least it is an effort to get some protein in because them shakes are not cutting it! The rest of day is sip water, sip water, sip water.  And to think, that is satisfying.  This menu would have never cut it pre-op.  I love my RNY!!

After a bit of indulging this weekend I am back on track with trying to lose these 10 pounds I have gained. I was so panicky about it before that I just sabotaged myself big time and ended up gaining instead, so I think I have figured out that I need to just chill out and eat healthy. It seems to work since last week I lost 4 pounds without my usual "dieting." I tell ya, this has been a roller coaster few months weight wise. But, I'm learning a lot and hope this will help me as the years roll by.  The honeymoon is definitely over but I'm trying to enjoy the actual marriage now here's today's damage: pre-workout snack: PB pudding snack: banana and atkins protein bar snack: string cheese lunch: 1/2 whole wheat bagel with 1 tablespoon light cream cheese and turkey snack: raisins and fat-free yogurt snack: 2 atkins protein bars dinner: grilled chicken with barbecue sauce and grilled zucchini with parmeson cheese snack: strawberries and sugar free cool whip calories: 1981 fat: 62 carbs: 251 fiber: 36 protein: 123 water: trying for 112 ounces

ugh...pouchy grouchy all day.  I ate what I wanted though B- protein bar L-left over prime rib - not happy about that S-watermelon -pouchy didn't like that either D-wonton soup  - picked off most of the noodle and just ate the part around the meat S-SF fudgesicle I may try to have a protein drink because I'm about 15g off on protein today, but I don't think the pouch will like the milk.  Oh, I just remembered my chike samples that you mix with water...that will work if I feel up to it. I've got 2 more bottles of water to drink to catch up on fluids since I didn't drink much today.
