Just want to say hello.  Kathy S. made me aware of this board.  I have not ventured off the Oklahoma board.  My surgery is June 18th and I am curently on my 10 day diet and about ready to go crazy.  I am second guessing myself and wondering how in the world I am going to do this.  If you have any advise I would love to here from you.  Since I know this board is here I will be back.  Thank you

Heather

I only had a 5 day diet and it wasn't too bad for me.  I drank liption onion soup (with the onions strained out) when i was feeling hungry, but mine was a true liquid diet.  No solid food at all.  Some of the surgeons have different plans. As the days go by, your body gets used to the change.  But let me tell you, I don't ever, ever, ever want to drink apple juice, cranberry juice or propel again.  My stomach turns just thinking about it. June 18 is next Wednesday.  So soon!  Good luck and we'll be praying for you!

Hang in there Heather.  I am on my 21st day of my 21 day LD.  June 18th will be here soon and it will all seem worth it.  Just do the best that you can to follow the recommendations and try to keep a variety of liquids going.  I didn't keep a variety and I will never, ever drink another chocolate protein shake or eat cream of potato soup again.  Try to eat SF popsicles (chew them - don't suck them) in order to keep that desire for chewing and crunching at a minimum.  And drink lots and lots of water...I've been drinking over 100oz. per day (not counting my liquid meals).  I wish you the best in your journey and next week will be here before you know it!

WELCOME Heather, You have come to the right board.  Lots of support especially when it seems like the goal is never gonna come.   You will make it, just take a deep breath and take them one at a time.  I am two years post op this Friday, lost over 200 lbs. and have had my first round of plastic.  I still have over 50 lbs. to lose but as I said you take them one at a time. Good luck we will be making room for you on the bench.  You will also be in my prayers. Jeanne

I had 14 days prior to surgery and 7 days following discharge of liquids. Do you have specific supplements you are eating? My surgeon uses a strict program from supplements they give you.. no deviating from that other than calorie-free fluids. I was loving some sugar-free Jello and also was allowed 2 tablespoons of salsa per meal if I wanted.  I saw that someone said SF popsicles.. awesome idea. I ate ice all day. Some people can't do that though. I made a deal with myself that whenever I felt hungry enough to think about acting on it, I had to do chores around the house. I was a busy cleaning bee for days and days! Haha. Good luck and hang in there. It won't be long now.
