I'm home - Plastic surgery update

I am home - came home Sunday about 22 hrs after conclusion of surgery. I am very sore, but able to move better today than I was Sat. night or Sun. morning. Percoset is my friend as well as the On Q pump which was removed today. I went back to the surgeon today for my 1st followup. I had not seen myself and how I looked until today, and really didn't get a good idea till I could come home and look in the mirror. All I can say is OH MY GOD! Who is this woman in the body with my head attached!!! I am shocked and amazed. The surgeon took 20+ lbs from my trunk and 1/2 lb from each breast of just extra skin. My skin was very deflated, very, very little fat left. No problems with bleeders because of the deflated skin. With no fat, the blood supply is very minimal. When they took the binder and surgical bra off at the doctors, my husband had a SHOCKED look on his face. I looked down and my tummy looked completely flat! I had never seen anything like that before. I am still swollen, and I will become flatter in my tummy still with, "well defined abs" as stated by the PS. I still have lots of fluid draining, and I can feel it moving around once I put on the compression garment. My breasts look unreal. I cannot ever remember mine looking like that - they are not sad little tube socks any more, but a nice round, PERKY C cup. This is really going to take a mental adjustment! I go back again on Friday - maybe one drain will be ready to remove. I hope! I'm heading back to the recliner to rest and relax. I just wanted to check in.

I'm so glad everything went well and that you are so happy with the results so far!  And from what I've read, it only gets better as you heal and the swelling goes down.  Best wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery -  Kellie

Oh WOW!  Congrats to you!  I am envious....maybe I will go thru with that one day myself!  Even with the Percoset....on a scale of 1-10...how is your pain?  How long will you be having to just rest all day? I'm not sure I could afford the time not working!  Anyway...this is wonderful that you no longer have to  deal with the extra skin! HUGS Jeanine

Jennie, you are amazing!  I can't imagine being up and around after all that PS.  How exciting that you don't even recognize yourself!  Did you take pictures, and will we get to see them? Hugs, Kix

Thanks for sharing....it sounds like you did great. I am very envious....I was wondering, how long will you be down for..Do you work? If so how long will you be off. This is one of my major concerns, getting alot of time off is hard as I work in a small office. Also did your insurance cover all or some of the surgery? Were you at your goal weight ? Sorry for all the questions, but I am really thinking of looking further into doing some plastics and have hundreds of questions.. I hope your recovery goes well and keep us all posted.. Thanks, Lynn

Glad to hear that you are home and all is well. How awesome that even with swelling the results of your hard work are showing. Sounds like you will be a 6-packer in the abs dept. I howled about your description of the boobage transformation. Take it slow and easy. Congrats!
