*yawn* *yawn* *big yawn* Our little shadow came by several times yesterday - we let her come in and play Wii for a while in the afternoon but told her no the other times.  I'm glad we work today because I don't want this to be an all the time thing.  They fought again last night, on the kid's birthday.  Argh.  I am super sleepy.  I picked  up a small black coffee on my way into the lab and asked for 1 splenda.  I am pretty sure they put sugar instead because it seemed sweet and instead of perking me up it made me sleepier.  Here is what I'm eating today - B - refried beans and cheese, and salsa (I have been in a bean mood for days now, very weird) S - small coffee with apparently a packet of sugar L - RTD myoplex (47 protein) D - not sure, meat and veggies probably S - 16oz mootopia (28g protein)

I'm sleepy today too. We're having "June Gloom" here in So Cal, cloudy cool morning and then it starts to heat up. The cooler morning make you want to curl up and sleep in! Got up early as I had to take hubby to work by 6 AM so I could drive his car. Mine stayed at the shop overnight since they had to order parts to fix the nasty little whine it had. They did get the Blue tooth installed yesterday though .. .woo hoo!! After dropping hubby off, I drove his brand new car over and picked up my Mom (at 6:15 AM) and we went out to breakfast before I went on to work. It was fun. Pre B - SF NF Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte B - 1/3 spinach, mushroom omelet, melon and 1/2 slice wheat toast S - Diet hot chocolate, followed up a bit later with turkey jerky L - meat crust pizza S - Greek yogurt w/black and blueberries added in and maybe Kay's Naturals cereal too. D - Rotel chicken, salad S - TJ's cranberry oatmeal cookie

I'm guessing my carb overload is over.  I'm obviously ovulating and that's when that hits me the most.  Today is much better for me. B-SBD protein bar L-potato and ham soup  & ham and swiss rolled up

S-watermelon D-turkey keilbasa and peppers/onions S-the last SF fudgesicle         I went to get one last night and there were two left.  Don't you hate that?!  I looked at my hus-        band and he just put his head down and asked me if I wanted him to go get more.  LOL

Gotta check my protein count.  Looks a little low.  I'll probably have to have a shake today too

I have days when I'm sleepier than others, even when I've gotten a good night's sleep.  Wonder what that's about.  Hopefully your energy level has picked up a bit.   Sounds like the situation with "your little shadow" is still evolving.  If you and Ryan choose to stay involved, which would probably be a great thing for this young woman, it may be helpful if you establish some ground rules.  How much time she can spend (up to 2 hours per day?), what time of day she can stop by or call (only between certain hours), must always have permission from parents, etc.  Although she's probably not getting the best supervision at home, I bet she'd respond okay to these types of rules as long as they are consistently applied.  And then you wouldn't have to wonder or worry about her showing up at odd hours or disrupting your dinner hour, etc.  Anyway, just a suggestion that may make the situation more comfortable for everyone.  In terms of the purpose of this post, I am on track for my third good day in a row, even with the impending arrival of Aunt Flo.  Here's what's on my plate Wednesday:

Breakfast:  1 c. 1% milk in my coffee, 1 packet Quaker Weight Control oatmeal

Snack #1:  1 c. low-fat cottage cheese, 4 tbsp. SF preserves, 2 large, diced strawberries, handful blueberries

Snack #2:  medium banana

[workout #1:  lower body strength training]

Lunch:  ~ 5 oz. leftover broiled salmon, 1 c. steamed broccoli

Snack #2:  1 c. Dannon light & fit vanilla yogurt, 1/4 c. Bob's Red Mill Mueslix, 2 large, diced strawberries, handful blueberries

Snack #3:  1 slice whole-grain bread, 3 slices smoked turkey, 1 slice low-fat cheese, alfalfa sprouts

[workout #2:  60 minutes of cardio]

Snack #4:  post-workout apple

Dinner:  maybe a lawash wrap filled with salad stuff (romaine, matchstick carrots, sprouts, diced cucumber, etc.) and leftover grilled chicken, but will depend on how much chicken is left in the fridge.  if there's not enough or if someone else wants it, I'll probably have a frozen dinner with a small salad

Snack #5:  2 sugarfree fudgesicles

Total calories: 2040
Carbs:  256.4
Fat:  52.7
Fiber:  39.9
Protein:  158.6

Yeah I think we will set some rules if it continues.  Ryan mentioned something else last night that sort of convinced me that 1.  I married a good guy 2.  We should not shut the kiddo out He said he'd like her to be able to see what a happy marriage is - that not everyone fights so much.  We don't know whether she has other "couples" as role models, but her parents definitely are not, and he doesn't want her to think thats the only way relationships work.  Basically he said he doesn't want her to end up in that kind of situation too just because she thinks thats the norm So I'm convinced to let it evolve as it may, once our novelty wears and/or the parents get over this round of fighting, we probably won't see her as much again.

It must be in the air today because I am falling asleep at my desk as I write. I stayed up late talking to a boy and now I'm regretting it. Now I have a date with the boy and beginning to think about the possibility of dating and late nights and so on and it makes me even more tired. I sometimes wonder if I am cut out for dating, I just don't feel like I ever have time for the other person. I was doing great today but the ole' craving monster crept up on me and I've been sucking on tootsie rolls all afternoon. I'm not going to list everything since it's pretty much the same and the tootsie rolls puts me way over the top. Tomorrow is another day

While the rest of you spent the day yawning, I am extremely cranked up for some reason.  I didn't eat anything odd, I'm just too full of energy.  I had 4 EAS protein drinks today @78g protein, 440 calories, and a big azz shrimp salad for dinner @ 600 calories and at least 40g protein.  Oh, and a handful of cashews (1 oz).  Maybe I'm storing up lots of protein and it's giving me too much energy.  Have you seen the dog food commercial with the bouncing dog?  He says, "I want meat!" (boing) "It's full of protein!" (boing) "Protein gives me energy!" (boing) (boing) "I can do this all day!" (boing boing boing).   Kix
