Good Morning Kix! I'm still trying to avoid the heat in the afternoon here although it's been pretty windy so that helps some..... This morning's routine included: 15 mins elliptical 15 mins upper body weight training 15 mins elliptical Sometimes I really get tired of the mental war that rages in my head while I'm working out..... You know, it's the old cartoon with the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other.... "you could quit right now, no one would know"..... "you've only got 10 more mins to go, you can do it"  back and forth sometimes for the whole dang workout...... LOL Oh well, I perservered (sp)!~

I have the same problem, only mine attacks me before I get to the gym.  There are days where I literally have to force myself over there to exercise.  Stupid brain! Kix

Good morning, Kix.  Today's another 2-a-day for me:  lower body strength training and core work at lunch, then 50-60 minutes of cardio after work.  I did intervals yesterday on the elliptical, and it really kicked my butt.  I know intervals are great cardio, but I don't always have the wherewithal to do them in the evening.  Today I will probably aim for 50-60 minutes in my middle target heart rate zone (126-144), which is much easier than intervals!!!!   What are you doing today?   Kellie

Karen, I fight those demons several times a week, but they are losing their power over me which feels so great! This morning my IPOD was dead (and I really rely on it to get me through the humps) so I climbed on the stairmaster for 5 minutes at some ridiculous level until I realized it was really kicking my butt and then I lowered it to 3. Then I climbed on the cross trainer which is like a sitting elliptical/stairmaster and did 30 minutes at level 8 ...2500 steps and then did two sets of 50 crunches on the exercise ball and  made it to work on time today!  I get a gold star for that one. It's getting hotter and hotter here and I'm sweating more and more during my workout.  I like to sweat though, but it worries me with my fluid intake.  I think I'm going to have to move to not counting the 20 oz I drink during my workout towards my daily intake.

I usually manage to drink 3 24oz bottles of water during my workouts..... it's on days that I don't workout (when I'm not in the office) that I have problems with my water intake..... By the time I'm through working out I don't know what's gotten strained more my thighs or my bladder...
