Hello All I am having Roux-en-Y on June 23th I am thrilled but my question is I still get my period every month it should be here the week of the 16th.  If it by chance is late and comes the week of surgery can you still have surgery and if so did anyone have that problem how do you keep from bleeding everywhere I know whene I had my Tubes Tied I had to take everything off so if I have to do that this time what do I do.  And please don't say reschedule because my mother and husband have already taken there time off work to help me with my 5 kids.  I am sorry that this is a gross subject but I have no one else to ask. Thank you so much Kelly

Relax I started my period the day before surgery. Was not a problem. I told the nurse when I was admitted they gave me a belt and pad  and all was well. They deal with that all the time.

You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance. -Lee Iacocca

Its not a problem - the nurses will help you deal with it, and they see it all the time.

awwwww its no biggie.....I had both my kids c-section and once you have a baby you have your period and no simple little spotty one either lol  The nurses are very used to it and they help and I have never had one make me feel uncomfortable for helping me in that area ever.... nothing you should be worring about at all...
