RNY LAP INCISIONS

HI EVERYONE. I WAS CURIOUS AS TO HOW MANY "HOLES" EVERYONE GOT WHEN GETTING LAP RNY. I, FOR SOME REASON, GOT 8.  I DON'T KNOW WHY I GOT SO MANY.  I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU HAD AN AVERAGE OF ABOUT 6.  I AM GOING TO ASK MY DOCTOR ON MY NEXT VISIT IF THERE WERE SOME COMPLICATIONS WERE I HAD TO GET MORE THAN NORMAL. LUCKILY I HEALED FAST AND I FEEL GREAT.

I'm still pre-op, but  my surgeon said 5.

I have the standard six!

I had 5 all together.

5 for me!  And the one just above the belly button took forever to heal.

I have six and a drain hole. would that be seven????

I had 7, and I had my gallbladder removed during surgery.  No complications or anything like that.  I had been told that I would have 5-6 without gallbladder removal, and 6-7 with.  Some of it depends upon if they need an extra "view" inside or another instrument to help grab and do the job.  When I had my lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy last month, I was told I would have 4-6 ports, and I had 4. Most of the "scars" are not even visible from my bypass surgery, and most of those will now be removed with plastic surgery. 

I had 4 ... they were able to use a couple of the same ones when I had my gallbladder taken out 4 months after WLS. Then 5 months after that they used the same ones to repair an internal hernia. Tiny, tiny little scars now.

Just 6 here...

I had 7 and the way I see it BE VERY glad.... better than waking up being cut from stem to stern and having to recover from that.
