Celebrate with me!!
YAY Jan! You won't miss it! My last one was right before the endometrial ablation I had in March - which led to the discovery that I needed the hysterectomy. I was expecting something in April, but only had very light spotting, then I had my hysterectomy. I gave all of my products to my girls, and cleared out a drawer and much of the cupboard in my bathroom. I haven't miss dealing with period stuff! I'm finally feeling like I have energy again, and for the most part am normal. I still have a lifting restriction and exercise restriction. I have my first post op visit on Friday. Hopefully, I will be cleared for more activity. Now that I'm getting over this one, my plastic surgery date has been moved up, so I will have my lower body lift and breast lift on Saturday! At least I can overlap the last bit of one recovery with the beginning of another! I know that you are going back to work after a couple of weeks, but realize that you might be more tired than you expect. That was my experience. Take care, prepare for your post op days, and enjoy this last period!
Great that your work can give you a place to rest. Just a short nap with my feet up really helped me at the 2 -3 week mark. I think that is what surprised me more than anything because I hadn't really had that with other procedures. You should do fine with all those accomodations. I am surprised at the number of people who had their surgery at the same time as me who still have not driven - I did wait 2 weeks for that because I felt pretty weak, and didn't know if I would be too exhausted to drive home - BUT 4 weeks amazes me! Also there are several who have not left their homes yet on my group with hystersisters! Oh, I also went home the day after my LAVH - about 26 hours afterward. I was in the Same Day Surgery Unit, which meant that I didn't have a room, but a bed in a room with 25 other beds, all curtained off, and 2 bathrooms. Not the best accomadations under the sun! Kaiser is doing my plastics! They will cover the panni part with a bit more because of some of rashes and other issues I've had, plus they cover the breast lift. Because just a panni removal would not solve most of my problems, I am paying the difference to convert it to a body lift. I cannot prove medical necessity for a body lift, but I would have a really, really bad cosmetic result with a panni removal or even a tummy tuck. I just have way too much extra skin above my belly button, and on my butt, outer thigh. My skin is pretty deflated, and isn't as noticible when standing, but as soon as I sit down, I have quite a large amount of skin around my middle. Where is the support meeting and what time? We have something in the works, but I will see if I can work it out. If not, maybe next month!
