After surgery it seemed I was ok to eat until I was full cause I could not eat very much. NOW well I can eat more and I should not eat until I am full. I am having a hard time with eating too much.I still do not eat sugar or fried stuff but I can eat more....

Thanks for the article, Jan.  It's a good reminder about the things we need to be mindful of as longer-term post-ops.   As Pam noted in her original post, it's common to be able to eat more this far out from surgery, so it's super important to focus on the behavioral changes that will ensure long-term maintanence of our losses.  I'm struggling with some of these things right now, so am grateful for the discussion, and also to know I'm not alone in this battle -  Kellie

At almost 2 years I found that I can eat more and that included sugar, to which I was never sensitive and fried foods upon occassion.  I am about down to the same weight as you.  I just had a panni, TT and hernia repair.  I don't know what happened but I can no longer eat sugar, and I get full really fast.  I have been reading about how hormones have an effect on our weight and I am thinking (in my own little world) that my hormones kicked in (or out) due to the surgery.   We are in a struggle.  With having so much to lose it is tough to see that we lost so much weight and still not at goal.  Our fellow members on other boards have lost the same or even less and are celebrating being at goal or below. We  just need to keep on pushing. OUr body's plumbing system was changed and each one of us, even though most similiar with have a different outcome. For me, as I am now just getting back to normal after the last surgery, I am going back to real basics.  protein, vegs and then carbs.  I am also going to write, which is the most dificult for me. Talk to your nut or your surgeon.  You have come too far and worked too hard.  You are not alone out there there is many of us.   I wish you luck and please keep me posted on what your plan might be. Thanks Jeanne, For answering me I am also glad to hear you had a TT and panni. When I went in for my last check up I saw a PA instead of my surgeon. He was not a good advice giver. he told me KNOW ONE WOULD operate on me at 307 lbs for a TT or panni. He said after all if you came in to our office now we would approve the surgery !! I said yes but I have lost almost 200 lbs and i think that my back would be better with all this fat off !! I will see someone else this next time and they are going to hear about this Matt at Clough's office.
