Is there any way you can contact your future insurance company and see what their requirements are for Bariatric surgery?  For example, do they require a doctor supervised diet for a specific number of months, do they require so many years of morbid obesity?  etc. etc. etc. If you can contact them and get something in writing you can use this time as you mentioned, to accomplish all their requirements so that as soon as they are your official insurance company you can begin the authorization process. Good Luck!

I will call them monday and ask what they need and so forth.. but i am so excited i have big my entire life and the thought of being able to take my girls to a amuzement park would be worth it... i really have a wonderful family and my husband is just absolutly wonderful.. Just a quick comment for you, you didn't mention if your new insurance was also with a new job?  You might want to make sure your employer is ok with you submitting for the WLS that soon after enrollment.  I had insurance nitemares also, my first insurance had exclusions in the plan.  I got a second job at a place that I knew had the insurance that would cover the WLS, however I waited until my 90 probabtion period was over before even trying to have the surgery request submitted.  Just a thought for you, I would hate for you to get totally denied because you submitted too early!!! Good luck to you... Caroline
