What losing weight and training poodles have in common.
I have two poodles. Curley I got grown and trained. He is an angel and doesn't bark much or beg. Tarzan, well... he is another story. We got him as a pup. He really wants to be a barker. I told my husband when we got him that I only had one rule of dog training. Never give up. Tarzan at almost three, barks less and less and for shorter periods of time. He knows he isn't supposed to come in the kitchen and mostly hangs in the door way. You get the picture. He gets better all the time because I never stop trying and I haven't broken his little spirit. Of course he is also voice controlled off the leash and a delight around people and other dogs so he has tons of privelages .
I take pauses in my weight loss efforts, but I never give up. I can teach this old dog new tricks and I need to all the time. I blow it all the time. But I will never give up trying. Loris
