day two -meat, meat, meat, cheese, cheese, sour cream & onion puffs, tea and digestive cookies.

i'm unmotivated to eat to my regime, i'm not hungry anymore which is some relief-but i'm not losing weight still at 298lbs.

sigh

Well its good that you admitted it - coming clean about stuff like this is very hard in my opinion.  If you are hungry, legitimately hungry, drink a bunch of water and see how it feels in an hour.  If you are then hungrier eat.  Not ketchup chips (what are those?) or chocolate or cookies.  I remember someone telling me they knew they were hungry if the pre-cooked chicken breasts they kept in the fridge actually sounded good.  She doesn't like them all that much so if they sound good, yep she's definitely hungry.  Day 2 is not as bad - plenty of protein (and fat) but not so carby.  What usually happens when you eat simple carbs is that your blood sugar goes up really quick and then crashes a little while later, making you hungry for more carbs.  Its a cycle - eating dense protein on the other hand keeps you full for a long time and keeps your blood sugar more level.  Granted, chips a hoy taste a lot better than meat most of the time.  If you are bored with your food, time to change it up.  Try some new recipes or ingredients. I have had a few days like the ones you described.  The most important thing is to move on.  You can't take it back, there's no point feeling guilty about it, so resolve to get control and move on.  Its a battle, and you are totally normal.  Good luck!

Forgive yourself, throw away any foods you know you want to eat even when you aren't hungry, and move on with your NEW lifestyle. I certainly understand how these things happen....I just spent a weekend with friends away from home.  All the wrong foods were on display and I ate, waited a short time, ate some more, waited a short time, ate some more, etc.  Hunger had nothing to do with it.  The only difference between the two of us is that I gained almost two pounds instead of staying the same. I have been on the straight and narrow since getting back home and counting my calories again.  It feels good being back in control and it will feel good to you too. Best wishes and don't forget to get rid of those foods that give you problems! Donna Kay

Oh my goodness...I was just coming to post something almost identical to what you wrote. I have been eating horrible the past few days and am so ticked at myself. It is good to know that I am not the only one...as I tell my husband, old habits are hard to break. That is why I love this forum, you guys know what I am saying. Hang in there, and know that you are not alone! Big hugs to you!

Sorry but I'm not going to sugar coat this -  What the HELL are you doing?  Why did you have this surgery if only to go back to your old ways of eating? What was going on that you let yourself get so out of control? You need a good swift kick in the arse right now, actually, you needed it while you were eating all that crap. Unmotivated? Listen here, you don't have a choice, your health is at stake. You keep eating like that and your going to wind up sick as can be. I think it's good you came here to get advice, and I hope you don't get offended by what I wrote but you really need to stop eating those bad things. You shouldn't even have them around you if you can stop yourself from eating them. If your hungry you need to eat more protein, it will help to keep you feeling full longer. You can do this!

The only thing bad about a mistake is if you don't learn from it.  Allow yourself to be human and slip, but this behavior cannot continue if you still want to lose weight.  I have found that planning ahead is the only way I can stay on track. Write it down and follow through.  I know every day will not be perfect. I hope you can get back in the groove and continue your journey and feel good about your choices.  HUGS & prayers.....Jeanine

Thank you for sharing this--sometimes on here I feel like no one else slips up the way I do--I have been there, done that just like you (well, not JUST like it--we all have different foods we turn to) and I spend hours and days berating myself because of it.  I cause myself such guilt and depression that all I want to do at that point is...eat!!! It is a vicious cycle and difficult to pull myself out of.  My point is--we all mess up--some more than others.  We all then berate ourselves and question our ability to be successful at this surgery.  We all have to make the decision to get out of the cycle. And we all can.   Try to pick yourself up out of this cycle sooner rather than later.  Send me a message anytime you need to--hang in there and we wil support each other.
