I hope everyone has a great day. My husband is off, but we have a lot of housework to do. As far as food, here's my plan:
B - 16oz mootopia, 1 packet nsa carnation instant breakfast
S - banana
L - 1c steamed broccoli and a small piece of husband's steak
D - risotto with parmesan (a very special treat that is carby and high in fat and I eat maybe once a year even before surgery because its a pain to make) and some vegetables, probably avocado and cucumber
I'm not tracking calories today, but 33g protein from breakfast, and probably 15 from lunch and 10 from dinner. If I don't eat much I'll supplement with another glass of milk before bed.
I'm a newbie so here goes:
Breakfast - 8 oz. water with Chicken flavored Unjury
Lunch - 2 ozs. - "shrimp scampi" - shrimp with garlic and pureed with 1 T. chicken broth for moisture.
Dinner - probably 2 oz. of chicken breast I picked up at Trader Joe's yesterday - pureed of course.
I also plan on drinking a CIB this afternoon. My NUT says 70 - 90 grams of protein and I find it very difficult to get it all in and most days average more like 65 - but I am trying.
My NUT also says no snacking either - and I'm supposed to "eat" three times a day but have never been able to eat first thing in the morning.
Thanks everyone!

Getting in enough protein is hard at first, and I also don't like to eat first thing in the morning. I usually do a liquid breakfast even 9 months out. My guidelines are 60-80g protein daily, I usually get around 80, and I am trying to eliminate snacks but sometimes with a liquid breakfast I will need a snack before lunch. As long as I am within my calorie limits I don't worry too much about it. Early out it was about 800cal per day - now I average 1000-1200, which is where my nutritionist would like me to stay as long as I am still losing.
I never could handle pureeing things, especially meat, and you are definitely doing VERY well with protein for someone so early out. All the best!
Today is Day 5 of LD - so, B - SlimFast L- SlimFast D- Cream of something soup with skim milk. Getting by pretty well, but like to read this thread so that I know I'll be able to eat something again soon - I won't shoot for the steak or risotto, but the shrimp scampi and/or chicken breast sounds good.
I'm following Dr. recommendations, but only getting about 30g protein per day. Is that bad? I'm not really physically hungry anymore - just emotional hunger and I'm coping.

Have you tried some of the RTD protein drinks instead of slim-fast? The Atkins Advantage ones aren't too bad and are sold in most grocery stores - they were my pre-op diet. I think 30g of protein per day is a little low personally, especially if you are going to have surgery soon. You need protein to heal properly and for a healthy immune system. Every doctor is different , and you should follow a doctor's orders, but I was specifically told not to drink Slim Fast as it was too high in carbs. The Atkins shakes have I think 2 net carbs per shake, and 20g of protein - 190 calories if I recall correctly. The EAS myoplex shakes are excellent but they are more expensive - I like the vanilla - and a large shake has 42g of protein. Sometimes I'll find a deal on them and buy them but usually they are too pricey.
Liquid diet is tough - I was on a modified liquid diet for several months before surgery - 2 or 3 shakes per day, plus 3oz lean meat and lots of veggies for dinner. I was only on a clear liquid diet for one day before surgery though, and it was HARD. Post-op I had some complications and ended up being on a liquid diet for more than a month. It was tough especially since I could not tolerate any of the protein supplements, so I didn't get remotely close to the amount of protein I needed. I really couldn't stand food and forced myself to eat. I have to say it was odd to go back to eating actual food again after a month of liquids.
Good luck!
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY Ladies well I have been not very hungry today one protein shake 110 cal protein 25 then for lunch I had 2 ozTuna salad 6 grams protein and about 100 cal protein shake 100 and protein 23 dont know but so far 54 protein cals are 310 but all the numbers will be going up know that I will be having another protien shake that will take me to at least 77 frams so protein will be ok I will post my dinner later.
Had a good Mem Day here. Hubby and I hit the garden center at 8:00 am and shopped until 9:30. Then we had to put stuff in. Of course he does most of the work (at this point), but last summer I wouldn't have been able to hack a small portion of what I did today.
B - 6 oz yogurt, 1 oz LF cojack cheese stick, 1 bite banana
S - 8 oz milk
L - 2 oz LF cheddar, 8 nacho cheese soy crisps, 5 strawberries, 1/4 pickle
S - 8 oz milk
D - 2 3/4 oz grilled chicken, 5 green beans and 4 tator tots (my Mem Day "splurge")
Wish we had mootopia here!
