Well, its almost the holiday, so I hope all of you have lots and lots of fun during the long weekend. I just want to stay out of the chocolate. We somehow ended up with two bags of Dove *looking around innocently for someone else to blame - it was buy one get one free* but my husband, I kid you not, ate a WHOLE bag of chocolate Thursday. At my bingiest, that would have made me hurl. He had a tummy ache but wouldn't admit it. His bag was caramel filled. I didn't even want to look at the calories. I want to weigh less than my husband, but he doesn't have to meet me halfway!
My plan for Friday is as follows
B - Venti whole milk latte
L - Tuna salad with kays naturals
Gyno re-appointment
Grocery shopping
Pick up husband
D - Chicken and cheese quesadilla, 1/2 avocado
S - Banana or apple
Well, after playing hooky from work yesterday, but having a great day, I called in to see if I have to go to jury duty, and darn it, I do! I have to report at 8:30AM ... nice way to spend my birthday!
I have no clue what's happening for lunch, but I'm taking lots of good snacks. It's been raining here and I might not venture out for lunch.
Pre B - SF NF Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte
B - Ham, banana
S - protein bar
S - homemade trail mix
L - ?
S - jerky if I don't eat it for lunch
D - Japanese grill - miso soup, steak, shrimp and veggies
LOL @ (I want to weigh less than my husband, but he doesn't have to meet me halfway!)

Ryan has gained about 20 since my surgery. And no matter how much he works out the scale isn't moving because he eats crap and inhales it. He's always eaten crap, and when he was 18-20 and walking or biking everywhere he was a rail, but now he's almost 30 and the old furnace just isn't burning like it used to. He's gained about 70lbs since I met him at 18. I hope its not my fault - my cooking isn't that rich. I think a lot of it was snacking on pastries and frappucinos for 5 years while working at Starbucks. My mom liked him when she met him, but she warned me I would gain weight if I ate like he did. She was right. I think I would have gained anyway, but having a partner in crime put that last 100lbs on pretty darned fast. Bacon cheeseburgers, onion rings, and cherry limeades... right to the hips.
I didn't know I weighed over 400 until we bought a scale that went up to 400 and I got on it, in front of him. It wouldn't read me. He thought it was broken and took it back. It wasn't broken. That was when he got a good idea how much I weighed. Ugh.
My husband has battled his weight all his life. In 2003 he weighed 280 pounds. Now he's 6'1" and holds his weight well. He lost 50 pounds and has maintained his weight loss for the last 5 years at 230 ish. Most of the time he's right there.
While he was away at school he got down to like 224 but since he's been home, he's more like 230. I notice that he grazes all the time. I bought some Zapps chips the other day (Tues) and the whole bag is gone and it was the big bag too. He snacks all the time and I tell him that's where his weight comes from. It's not his meals but his constant grazing. I know, I know, worse than a reformed alcoholic (that's what they say about me).
Eating for me today...
B - SB protein bar / small bananna later
S - 12 gensoy bbq chips
L - 3 oz buffalo chicken deli turkey & 1 oz sharp cheddar cheese & motts blueberry applesauce
S - 2 SF peeps
D - ????
Looks like today will be a protein shake day for me because I think we are doing mexican for dinner tonight.

My husband is 6' - 6'1'' also - sitting around 250 currently. He was 175 when we met, too skinny IMO. I think he looked really good at about 200. He holds his weight in his tummy and booty. He has a small frame for being so tall, really thin wrists and ankles. He had weight problem as a kid I guess, but once puberty hit he couldn't eat fast enough, and it seemed to stay that way until about 20, then boom. He doesn't usually graze much now, but he waits so long to eat that he inhales a huge amount of food at dinner, and then he also gets up in the middle of the night and eats. I am the last person to be critical of someone's eating habits, but he is not pleased about the weight gain, and I've pointed out how he could fix some of it - drop to one soda per day, eat breakfast, no midnight snacking, and chew your food would be a good start. I also think after my surgery he panicked for a little while that he'd never be able to eat again too. And also, with my complications and 2 near death experiences he witnessed before and after surgery, I think it was stress eating too. Now there is rarely sugar or bread in the house, so if he gets access to either one he goes a little nuts with the carbs too. Poor guy.
