What are your plans for the Holiday Weekend?

Hmmm.  We haven't made any plans as of yet.  I know the beach will be on tap for  us for sure.  But since I missed my workout on Monday and Wednesday and the gym will be closed on Monday, I'm going to workout on Saturday. Memorial Weekend here in Pensacola brings with it the Gay Riviera.  And I don't mean "Happy" riviera.  It's a big deal every year here.  The gay and lesbian community from around the US come to Pensacola Beach for the start of their summer.  It doesn't bother me at all.  They pretty much stay to the opposite end of the beach than from where we go and they bring in a ton of money to the economy.  I'm not a gay basher, but being in the bible belt, there are many people here who hate it. Oh, I forgot, we are going sailing on Sunday!  One of our friends from church has a sail boat and he's invited us to go with them.  I've never been sailing and I tend to get sick when I go out on boats but that's been going way out into the iintercoastal waterway and the waves don't sit well with my stomach. I'm sure seafood will be on the menu for us as well this weekend.  I used to love a good grilled burger, but it's so much to eat now and I just don't enjoy it as much.   We'll also probably go see the new Indiana Jones movie.  I was never a big fan but if it will make Karl happy, then I'll go. And...we have a social at church on Sunday so that will be fun.   What are you planning to do this weekend as we remember our service men and women who have died in military service so that we may have freedom?

Well, I'm starting the weekend off by celebrating my birthday on Friday, always hated it as a kid when it fell on MD weekend, all my friends would be gone for the long weekend, as an adult it really doesn't matter anymore. We're going out to my favorite Japanese grill with my family (wish me luck!) for dinner. Supposed to be doing dinner with hubbies family on Saturday. Sunday I'm making and serving brunch to the seniors at church. I've decided to make things a bit healthy for them, since I know quite a few are diabetic. I'll be baking some SF breads on Saturday. This will be the last weekend hubbies family is here from Holland, they leave Monday afternoon. So I'm sure we'll be in the convoy to take them back to LAX.  Then stopping at my best friends for a BBQ.

Just don't let anyone bash you about your eating.  I remember your last post when you had Japanese.  That pissed me off.   I don't like cooking for seniors because they always complain something is too spicy.  But that's sweet of you to do that!  And, to think of their dietary needs.

I really need to get my house in order too, but skipping around from here to there sounds like so much more fun!

I have a very boring weekend planned - husband works the ENTIRE weekend, and I'll be cleaning, getting ready to leave the following week.  We have people coming by to take care of the kitties, and I want the apartment nice and sparkly (or at least not looking like insane maniacs live here) before we go.

Sounds like some of you are going to have fun.

In Sweden both this weekend and the next weekend are just normal nothing-extra-weekends. My fiance goes off night-shift on friday morning and then he will have a whole week off. He is free from work every 4th week. So I guess we are just going to do some cleaning, perhaps make a basket with coffee and a sandwich for him, and a tetra off my VLCD-diet and a bottle of water for me, and then head out to one of the islands and go for a small walk and picnic. But that is just if the weather is nice.

Got a visitor on monday. One of my best friends is coming over with her 1½ month old son. He is pure delight, and her 2 older children (aged 3 and 4) are at kindergarden so we are going to have some serious girltalk. Sending my fiance to the hairdresser so he is out off the way.

It's funny, most guys act disinterested in what women talk about but secretly I know they want to knw what we talk about when they aren't around.  It's like a world-mystery to them.
