Can I vent?

Somehow I have managed not to stress eat.  I've been up since 3:00am thinking about work.  I came home to a sewer backup in my basement.  $400 dollars later, it still isn't unplugged.  Will have to have more people in tomorrow and probably also pay for a camera as this is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened in less than 3 yrs.  Then I came to the computer and see that I have a virus. My little pouch is the only thing that is keeping me from a chocolate binge right now.   Thanks for listening.

Congratulations on this accomplishment.  I know what you mean to want to turn to food to deal with the stress.  I've done it once and I just really overate so it wasn't too bad.  Keep focusing on how far you've come and not on the problems at hand.  There's really nothing you can do about any of it and worrying and stressing is no great help.  Cortisol comes from stress and helps us to gain and hold on to weight. Dawn, you'll make it through this and come out better for it.  Hope you can get rid of the virus!

Thanks Kathy.  I forgot to mention last night that I'm in a stall, so that is what makes it even more amazing that I didn't eat.  I had those voices pop in yesterday that were telling me, "see, you even fail with wls", "You'll never lose the weight", etc.  When those voices appear, that's when I usually fall of the wagon.   Today is a new day

Hang tough Dawn!!!!  I too struggle with stress eating. My mom's kidneys quit working a month ago and she ended up in the hospital and now she is on dialisys. I have not lost any weight this month and I have only gained 2 lbs and that is now gone.  My hat is off to you for keeping it together. Good luck with that sewer problem, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Congratulations to you for recognizing your problem with stress eating and not acting on it!!!  Hope everything works out with your sewage problem!!!  Once the crisis has past treat your self to something special for making it thru this without binging (not food of course); a nice massage, manicure, what ever you find joy/happiness in!! Keep up the good work!! caroline

Thanks for the support everyone!  When the guys came this morning with the big guns, they strongly recommended calling the city again, as what they were seeing just didn't seem right.  It was a blockage in the city's sewer line, despite their denial of such last night.  Props to Roto Rooter, for not even charging us for today's visit.  My poor husband spent the day with bleach water.  Now we'll get to fight city hall to try to get reimbursed.   I'm trying to get the energy up to go exercise now.   Tomorrow is my 3 month follow up visit.   -Dawn
