I ate sushi about that timeframe post-op but I have a VSG. Talk with your NUT since you have RNY. If you do decide to chance it get it with brown rice instead of white.
Im seven weeks out of RNY and i am not allowed starches like rice. 4 weeks is too soon and the rice may hurt your pouch not to mention the seaweed it's wrapped in. I would wait on that or get clearance from NUT
twinnin and piggybacking. me too but i could only eat one roll (or 4 minis) even now still have to go slow but i think it's that rice kinda bothers me.
I've never really eaten sushi. I did have one piece of a california roll since surgery and have been craving it since then. I just haven't given in because of the rice.

At 4 weeks out I would say rice is a NO-no.....it swells really bad after you eat it. So I would hold off on the sushi for now. At a little over a year out rice still bothers me sometimes.
