GATEWAY TO 8K, WEEK 3 COMPLETE !!! COUCH TO 5k,

LEE

Morning Yall

I really feel like this program is a step back for me and I don't like that.   I ended the couch to 5K running 30 minutes straight and with this program on week 3 for example.  I run for 9 min four times  with a one min break  in between so that is a total of 36 minutes.  The runs will progressively get longer but I just feel like I should be running much longer but now that I think about it I am running 6 min more.

Nevermind all of that I am going to stick to the program and trust it, it is interval and I guess I don't enjoy intervals as much, but it says I'll be running straight through by the end so I will trust the process.

So my run is complete and I feel really happy cause I was really tired today because I pushed myself on my run last night.

Hope you guys have a great run.

I see what saying about setting you back if you were running straight then back to intervals on the new program. Seems like you had much success with the couch25k so good for you for trusting the program at this point.

As a true couch potato, I find the intervals making the workout more interesting and it definitely goes by faster than if I was walking for 30 minutes. Now when I am jogging for 30 minutes I think I will be too amazed to get bored and I hope to venture outside by then.

I completed week 2 this morning. My right knee again reminded me I am still overweight so I may wrap it Monday to help keep it's mouth shut!

Next week's routine looks intimidating, but I am going to give it my best shot. If I struggle, I will gracefully repeat week 2.

Caught your note about the 'bathroom jeans' giving you inspiration. Been thinking about that. never been much of a jeans girl (seem to look good on everyone else but me) but it would be nice to put on a pair after losing 143 lbs. Not sure if it would motivate me so I may use a dress instead. Same principle.

Will be shopping this evening for some running shoes again. No luck last Sunday.

Keep up the great work Lee! I'll be peeping at your progress!

If I am gonna eat   like a fat girl, then I gotta workout   like a skinny girl!

Hey Lee, don't you know I left the dayum Nike+ at home lol. I thought I was going to have enough time to go get it but I didn't. Still gottta do my 3 miles. I'm just doing my own thing at this point. I can run a lil under 2 miles, sometimes I get lazy and only make it to a mile and a half then take a 1/4 mile or so walk then run the rest to 3 miles.

The couch to 8K didn;t you say there was music, or was it just beats? But can't you use your own music with the Nike plus? Ok tell me how you incorporate the program with the Nike+

1. Download the 8K program to your ipod
2. music -> Songs
3. Pick the podcast you want to play
4. Hit menu again back to Nike +
5. Basic
6. Now Playing
7. It will start it's search for the sensor
8. You will push the middle button to start program
9. It will begin.

That is how it works for my ipod hopefully it works the same for yours

I don't really know if I want to do my own thing because I know I will start slacking and I don't want to slack.   Yes with the Nike+ you can design your own program if you chose to do that.   I may try it one day but i'm going to finish this program before I do that.

Hey Lee, as always, keep up the good work. You are a great motivator to us all.

I have gotten up to three miles and did it 2 days in a row but last night I just could not complete it. i was actually tired after the 1st lap. After 1 1/2 miles I just had to stop. i just couldnt get into it. I had so much on my mind and thinking of everything I needed to get done before bed. I was just plain tired and my body felt drained.

I am looking forward to completing my 3 miles tonight.

I am trying to eat more now but i just dont have an appetite. Now, I do get my snacking on but I have cut that out for the past 2 weeks but I typically skip dinner. I think with all the running, I need to up my calories to give me more energy especially since I have significantly cut out the snacks.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
