WOW...

Greetings everyone... I found this on the main board... I thought this would be something good for you all to read... NOT drinking WATER... NOT talking your VITAMINS... NOT OBEY DOCTORS ORDERS... GETTING YOUR DRINK ON!!!  Please READ...

Some of you may remember Latricia Foster.  She had rny about 5 yrs ago.  She passed away last week of apparently a bowl obstrusction.  From what i hear, she swelled up real bad and was unable to have a BM, but she went to the doc and was sent home with meds.  She died in her sleep.  I knew Tricia personally...so before everybody gets freaked out, as I gotta admit I kinda am too... Tricia was a HEAVY drinker,, she didnt take any supplements and just didnt take care of herslf at all. She was also under tremendous stress at the time.  I just wanted to pass this along to any that may have known her.  She was a big help to me in getting my surgery and I'll never forget that.

You are SO right - this **** ain't no joke and it ain't no punk neither!!!  I ended up in the ER at my one year mark because I had horrible pain in my gut.  Turned out I was dehydrated and it was gas - but it COULD have turned into worse..... those obstructions are mudda******s!!!!

I ain't NEVA been dehydrated since and don't play with my water intake.  Newbies - take NOTE!!!!  It ain't a rule just for rules sake - tha****er rule SAVES LIVES!

I am holding on as expected being a newbie.  Food porn still makes me have OOO's however not as strong.  Some days are better than others with my Calsium (sp), due to different times however being aware I know I will get better with my new life.  Have not experienced any major issues however I do have some pains that are not associated with bowel problems.  Today is 6 week follow up so will be going to the gym next week and working out the kinks.   Sometimes it takes a setback for a family to bond

Yup, I've already been warned do not leave the hospital without a CT scan and a whole workup of the sort. Bad pain in the gut area for us aint nuffin to be played with!!

Such a shame that it's something that could be treated if caught in time. I feel so sorry for her family
