Day-late B*TCHFest: Climb aboard!!
For you NEW KIDS, HERE ARE THE RULES:
"B*TCHFest" is provided as a public service to those of us who have gripes and grievances but who (whom?), for whatever reason, lack a regular forum in which to air them. You are welcome to voice any problems - large or small, important, mundane or ridiculous - that currently have your panties wadded, your shorts frosted and your gears ground. Don't hold them in and risk future medical issues, wrinkles and/or those pesky gray hairs.
ANY and ALL issues that are plaguing you are open for you to voice; there are no "sacred cows." They say that "feelings aren't facts", so if you're feeling it, it's legit to you. NO ONE is allowed to flame a poster for something he or she writes, however commiseration is not only welcomed but encouraged. Please, no personal attacks against other OH members (at least, not by name) and ABSOLUTELY NO SURGERY WARS!
I'll start you off with a few gripes of mine, and you all can join in at any time! No limits - come back as many times as you like!
WARNING! Adult content ahead! Posts may (and probably will) contain "adult" content and language. I know that MINE will. Rated TV-MA.
- Okay, I am gonna address this one right out of the gate: ANYONE WHO ATTACKS OR INSULTS ANYONE ELSE'S PHYSICAL APPEARANCE ON OH!
What the **** people! Haven't we had enough of these attacks launched against us throughout our obese lives without having to have it done HERE? A certain OHer has made it her mission over the past couple of days to respond to posted comments which disagree with her with childish (to say the least), nasty and - IMHO - completely unacceptable attacks on people's appearances or, rather, her PERCEIVED idea of their appearances, since she can't actually SEE most of them. And BTW, the person in question has a non-photo avatar and has made her profile private.
OH has updated their TOS to ban bullying and actions such as these, but still allows them to occur over on R&R since it is "unmoderated" (which ain't exactly true.) It's more than a little disingenuous for OH to label this behavior inappropriate on 99% of the site, but to allow anything to happen over there. Rant over.
- What is it with people (okay, MEN) who find it necessary to whack invisible golf or tennis balls? Are they mental, or just outrageously pretentious? I like horseback riding, but you don't see me mounting up and play-galloping around the gym . . .
- My knees. (sighs) Oh, my knees. The current bane of my existence! You will NOT keep me from exercising! I will just shift focus to any exercise that doesn't annoy the two of you!!!
- To my 93-year-old house: I love you. I really do. But could you PLEASE not have any more breakdowns until I'm working again (assuming that I ever am)???? Ancient clay sewer pipes collapsed this week and need to be replaced, from the house all the way to the main in the street. To the tune of seven grand.
Well, that's a good jumping-off point. Now it's your turn!

Daughters who give their mothers the crud. Every blasted thing the child comes down with from pink-eye to vomiting illness, I'm never far behind. One of the joys of parenthood.
Husbands who seem perpetually impervious to the cruds their daughter brings home even though they help tend to her. Not fair.
The last of said husband's unemployment payments, which we received today. He is now looking for a job in the category of "any damn body who will hire me even if it's minimum wage." I'm cautiously optimistic he'll find something like that someday soon, but it won't do much for his morale. Meanwhile, just call me the sole support of the family.
People who judge said husband as if her were a deadbeat. Not his fault his boss went out of business and there ain't much work in the construction/home remodeling field right now. Plus at least (unlike some unemployed husbands I'm personally aware of) he has taken over cooking and cleaning and shopping and all that crap. If the shoe wason the other foot and I, the wife, was unemployed I doubt I'd be judged like that.
