"But my surgeon said to take a couple of Flintstones vitamins and I'll be okay!"

I'm in pain and on dopamax.

There's a reason I've been avoiding the MB of late.

OH should make your posts a sticky so they're always right on top!

I do have a question though... I am taking a gummy D3 simply because I cannot swallow another pill when taking my citrate... I take 2 calcium with D and magnesium and have to cut them in half to swallow them... there's just not enough room in my pouch for more water to get down the D3 in pill form...

I'm hoping this is ok?  It's the only gummy I take...

I emailed 2 companies about these and they are the wrong form of D.

I mean, you'll get some of it -- especially the further out you get.. but not all of it.

Have you tried the D3 sublingual from vitalady?  Or her D3-5's?  Those effers are TEENY TINY.  Like a capsule that is the width of Kaitlin's pinky nail.  No kidding.  Very very small, and you could open it up and mix it with something.  Very little stuff in it.

Thanks Andrea.  I thought since it was D3 even in gummy form it was ok.

I have to order some more protein soon so will add the capsules.  My b12 sublingual is good, but the B1 sublingual I tried is NASTY, don't want to chance another sublingual and not like it.  Thanks!

Hubby cannot take large pills and he can easily take the D3-5's if that gives you a clue as to size.

So enjoy and hope they help.

I used to have no problem taking large pills, but now that I can't "gulp" a glass of water, it's a whole 'nother ball game.  Trying to swallow half a pill with one mouthful of water is challenging.  Add to that the upper repiratory infection I've been fighting for 2 weeks... not fun.  I've gotten them stuck twice, not a pleasant experience!

Thanks again for the recommendation!

And look how much it SHOULD be repeated!  In only the last 24 hours, I've seen several people here on OH admit to taking gummies and Flintstones.  Egads!

I am awaiting insurance approval and my doctor, who is one of the top bariatric surgeons, also recommneds childrens vitamins but only for the first 6 months then to switch over. From everything I read I will be starting adult and then some. I would rather go above and beyond and get even more variety than what is recommended. I have heard too many horror stories.

I'm sorry, but I have to say - almost everyone thinks their surgeon is one of the "top" bariatric surgeons.

As for the rest of your post, you're smart to NOT follow his advice. Too many people don't understand that a surgeon specializes in cutting, rearranging, and stapling, NOT in nutrition.

oooh!  Can *I* be a top bariatric surgeon?  I can recommend children's vitamins to new postops!
