Oh Sweet.  My Dad had a poodle and her name was Littlebit.  My Aunt had a Dachshund and his name was Trouble.

He looks just like my Yogi!  We've had him about 5wks, he's a little over 1yr.  I absolutely think Daschies are the smartest dogs out there!  congrats!

My dad has always owned Dachshunds they really are good dogs. Jerry and I currently own a 7 month old standard size whos Black Brown and white. Now dont get me wrong I love them and they are great dogs but ours have always been super hard to house break, and they didnt do well with small children, it seems the older my dads get the harder he is to deal with when it comes to the grandkids. I suppose each dog has their own temperment but this has just seemed to be the norm for the 7 Ive been around in my lifetime!

I'm glad to read someone else has trouble training dachshunds!  Our oldest, Corky, is 10, so it's been a long long time since he had an accident - however, since we've had Yogi, he's had a few.  Yogi, on the other hand, has one at least every other day!  I'm trying to be really really patient - as he'd been in 3 homes before coming to us - but it does get frustrating!  I feel like he's so smart, almost too smart sometimes - and I wonder if he's doing it on purpose b/c he's mad at us (like when we leave him for instance).
Anyway, I still love dachshunds, lol.
