A Good Read
Hello Alabama! Just had to share with ya'll the book I'm reading and some of the thoughts that go with it, because I can identify through this book with our BOARD. A coworker shared his book 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper with me yesterday. I'm almost finished reading it. It is that good!
Anyway, through out the book he talks of his "Prayer Warriors". He even dedicated his book to them saying, " To the prayor warriors... You prayed; I'm here!" He continually confesses that after his horrendous accident he knows that he wouldn't be here or healed as well as he did if it hadn't been for OTHER people's prayers. He wanted to die from the pain and other indignities that he was faced with and he asked for God to take him back. He couldn't understand why God would allow him to suffer as he did. And there were thousands of people praying for him when he couldn't do it himself.
That's what got me thinking about our board. Members are always asking for prayer and they get it. Even if no one responds back to their post, they are getting lots of prayer. So never think that you are not loved or that prayer is unimportant. You are always loved by God, even if you feel let down by your loved ones or Him. And pray for those that request it or those who don't request prayer but that you know they need it.
When the accident happened a pastor happened upon the scene. He went to the paramedic and said he wanted to pray for the person in the accident. The paramedic told the pastor that the person was dead. There was no pulse. But for some reason, the pastor felt compelled to pray for the dead man. He was a medic in the army and he couldn't find a pulse either, but he sat in a car under a tarp with a dead man for 90 minutes. He prayed and sang and the dead man started singing with him! How awesome!
Sorry about the long post. I'm not sure that I said what I felt compelled to say or even if I made sense in my ramblings. All I know is that I just needed to tell ya'll about this book. And that I'm so blessed to have "Prayer Warriors" in my corner if I need them!

Hi Carmen,
I believe in miracles and I believe God had a plan when out of the BLUE this book came up in a conversation and one of my fellow co-workers just happened to have it in his back pack. I finished it after I posted this and I had a good cry. You'll feel so blessed to have read it.

Thanks so much for sharing this Gisela.. sounds like an awesome book. Whether people believe it or not thats up to them... I know prayers works. I second that.. I am Blessed to have these AWESOME "Prayer Warriors" in my corner too!! Have a Wonderful BLESSED day!!

Gisela, I love you my friend and I THANK YOU for listening to God and sharing this. It makes my mind go back 9 years to my accident and think how blessed I am to have had prayer warriors. It also makes me SO THANKFUL to have prayer warriors here on this board. I WILL be findiing this book and reading it. Thanks again for telling us this today!! I needed it. We are SO BLESSED on the Bama Board!!

Aw, shucks, Randall! I don't believe I'm a blessing to anyone. There are too many others who bring God's word to all of us daily, you included. But thank you for your kind words. Please do pick it up and share it with everyone. Wouldn't it be neat to have a Bama Board book club to share our thoughts on the Blessing that I got to read for the past two nights?
