I don't get it either, but I was never suppose to drink sodas and I should have never began again.  I just want to remain off of them.  Evidently, there is something in them that hinders weight loss or causes us to retain fluid or something.

 I've read in some places that acesulfame potassium that is used in combination with other 'diet' sweeteners, usually Splenda, has some effect on insulin, causes us to release more or something.  Maybe that has something to do with it.  I know they say drinking artificially sweetened soda causes cravings and makes your body want more sweets because it expected sugar but didn't get it but I've never noticed an increase in sugar cravings because of it.  If that were the case, one would think things like Crystal Light would do the same thing.  Nope, has to be something in them.
