Spokane Washington...
Can anyone recommend a good family Doctor? Preferably one who is not an intern and is well established in his/her practices. I live is Spokane WA, and I'm having a hard time finding a Doctor that is willing to help me and not brush me off and pump me up on a lot of medicines.
I'm covered by Group Health Cooperative till the 1st of January and then my coverage will change to Community Health Plan of Washington.
Thanks

hi Billie Jo,
My family Dr. is great, I like him a lot! But I don't know much better since I have been going to him since I was 11. His name is David Gilman and he is in the Spokane Valley. His partner is Nick Curalli, whom I like a lot also. (509) 924-4681.
good luck

My mom and dad love their doctor, Rita Snow, whose practice is in the Valley. From what I've observed of the way she cares for my parents she doesn't seem to unnecessarily throw a lot of meds at them and is very good about keeping up their testing, etc. They are usually able to get in with her nurse practicioner if they have more urgent care needs and Dr. Snow is VERY good about making sure my folks keep up with their other specialists...heart, pulmonologist, etc.
As for me personally, I can't help you with recommendations because I get my care at the revolving door of the Fairchild military clinic and my physicians change constantly and are usually all military. Whenever we do get civilians in practice there that I like, they end up moving away to different practices. Pooh! Oh well, it is affordable care for us (no, not free for those who don't know about the military) and in this economy that is very important.
Good luck and happy Dr. hunting! (And keep dry today!!!)

I had mine done done by r pennings in Post falls. He did as great job! He took the time to go over everything and make sure that all of my questions were answered. His office also has a great program that goes hand in hand with the surgries. There is the before testing nut, psyc, exercise, and support groups. Several people in his office have had w/s. Best of luck with whome ever you chose.
