I think I have "forgotten" for the most part now what it felt like to be at a BMI of 44. Not all parts- I can still relate to clothes fitting tightly and such, but I am talking about what it felt to move around that heavy. I remember being very Ok with spending way too much time as a couch potatoe, but the aches and pains and such of obesity are a distant memory already. A little scary actually- I have to remind myself to not let my weight creep back up given it was originally a slow slide for me. When you gain 5 pounds here and there, your loss of mobility happens gradually and you don't really realize how crappy you feel as a result. The rapid weight loss was a total eye opener in that regard of the stark difference.

I am also now completely used to looking relatively trim in clothes. It has been a long time since I worried about something making me look like I was wearing a tent or giving me the shoulders of a linebacker.

So in all- I would have to say I am adjusted to the point that my current weight feels very normal for me and no longer a novelty. Now just to keep it there!

Congrats! For me, I think it took around 4 years to totally grasp it and get used to the new me. At almost 8 years out, this is my new normal.

Hurray for you!!! This is fantastic news, very happy for you

As for grasping the reality, it will take a looooooong time.  For me it continues to be a process and I'm three years post-op.
