Hey Everyone, I just want some honest opinions from those of you that have been there.  I am wondering if I have reached the end of my weight loss journey.  I am not even 9 months out but I haven't lost a thing in a month!  Now I have to admit I haven't been an angel and I can eat a lot more now.  I really watching how much I eat and the calorie intake but the scales only move up and down 2lbs or so.  Will it pick back up?  Will I reach my goal?  I only am about 30lbs away from goal.  Will I get there?  I am trying to up my protein and just joined a gym.  I hope all of this helps things begin to pick up.  Also, I'm gonna stop drinking except on special occasions and then only one.  I believe that has contributed.  Well, thanks for any advice or ways to cope that you can offer me. Rachel

Hi Rachel.  I would say no, you are not at the end of your journey, but have either hit a plateau or a stall.  Which is completely normal.  I think I was about 9 mths out when I REALLY started slowing down on my weight loss, and I am not an angel either .  I have even had weeks where I did not lose any or 1/2 lb or even gain a little.  It is OK.  Just keep working the tool.  Up your protein and water intake.  Also exercise will help greatly.  I did notice the weeks that I had my biggest weight loss after I started slowing and stalling, was when I did pick up my exercise level.  Good Luck and keep your chin up. Julie

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!

Hi Rachel.  I don't think you have reached the end....just it gets a lot slower and harder at this point.  The rapid loss at first makes us very impatient.  Hang in and you will get there!

Hey girl it's not the end but like everyone says it really slows down. At nine months I was 160 and at 19 months i'm 143 so it comes off just takes longer. All the upstate girls totally know i'm no angel when it comes to eating to. Marcey

Hey Rachel,

I'd like to give you an answer, but I don't know the answer myself. I get 80 - 100 grams of protein a day. I drink my water (at least 3 32 oz cups a day). I don't eat sugar. I probably eat 1200 to 1500 calories a day. And i'm gaining. I'm not for sure that I should cut back on the calories....but I definitely need to kick up the exercise. I either need a personal trainer or a workout buddy!!!

Actually, it's the exercise (although Debra didn't exercise much and look at her)..... I don't know

Bottom line....everybody is different!!!!

Hugs,
Dianne

Rachel, there isn't much I can say to you to help out, cause you know I have always had the problem of losing slow with long, and I mean really long stalls. I worry everyday that my pouch is stretched since I can eat a lot more than most people and really have to watch it.I have always been able to eat more than what they tell us, so I don't know what the problem is. Katie was talking to the pre-ops Monday and talked about C-Pap machines and why they don't want us to use them, it's because the air gets in the pouch and stretches it like a blown up balloon.  As I have mentioned before I had to use my machine imediately after surgery because of my low sats and I still have sleep apnea bad if I don't use it. Sooooo I am between a rock and hard place with the C-Pap.  I think you are worrying over nothing, your weight loss has been steady and you know how it can stall. Just look at my profile page and you can see my horrible pattern, lose a couple then stall 3 weeks. Your doing great, don't worry about it, just keep on keeping on and it will start back up. Mary
