Very Discouraged
OK.. I need some cheering up.. I'm 16 weeks out today... down 60 pounds.. but I don't seem to be losing as fast as others that had their surgery in November ... I go to the November boards and those people are up into the 80 pound mark... What's up with that?? I'm so depressed today
I NEED A HUG!!! I NEED SOME WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!

Here is your hug (((((Stephanie))))). Please do not compare yourself to others. We all lose weight at different rates. We even hit our plateaus and stalls at different times. YOU ARE DOING GREAT! 60 lbs gone forever
in 4 mths. That is about 4 lbs a week. That is awesome!
I remember getting discourage seeing people that were not as far out as I was and had lost tons more that I. But they are different from me, just like you are different from people who had surgery in Nov. Relax. You are doing great. As long as that scale is moving down or even staying still, remember you did this to have a better healthy life style.
You are doing great and you are success! Plus if you are going to MB, just start thinking about how much fun we are going to have.
That is the only thing keeping me going this week.
Julie

Stephanie, your a month behind me and have lost more than I have. I think we need to stop compairing ourselves to everyone else, I know I need to for sure. I'm depressed about it but, my body has never lost fast and I guess this is going the same way. It's hard to be cheery when you feel like your being passed by others who had surgery at the same time. I know there are other factors involved in the weight loss. It seems as though the ones who have more to loose drop it off faster.Anyway lets try not to get discouraged and just look at what we have already lost in the short time since surgery.Keep smiling!

Oh Stephanie, we will drive ourselves crazy comparing ourselves to others. Believe me. I was looking at some of my friends losses on the March board and they all pretty much weigh less than me now, even those that started out heavier. I've been completely avoiding them these past few weeks because of it. And they are still losing! I am having such a hard time getting these last few pounds off. I actually sat in front of the computer and cried yesterday!! Needless to say, there are a few of us around here who need hugs!
The only thing I can think of is to keep on trucking, as long as you are losing, it is good. Even if it only a few pounds at a time. We will all get there eventually, it is just gonna take some of us longer than others.
Nothing worth having comes easy, even with "major medical intervention!"

Ya know... I knew going in.. I wouldn't be able to UN-zip the fat suit and a skinny healthier Stephanie would stroll out.. ... I guess I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself.. I do my official weigh in for my home calander... every Monday Morning.. I guess I was put off that I hadn't lost any from last Monday...
C'mere and gimme a hug Miss Kathy!!

Stephanie-
You are doing awesome!!!!! You can't compare yourself to anyone else. I know it is hard not to, but you simply can't. I have been a slow loser from the beginning. It is hard and difficult, but just keep doing what you are doing. Think about it....60 pounds in 4 months!! That is AMAZING!!!!!!!
Melissa

You could be like me who has gained all of a sudden 20 lbs in the past 3 months. I'm really, really beating myself up. I've never reached goal, but dangit, I was at least within 10 lbs before and not 30!!
Moral of the story is you're doing much, much better than me!!
60 lbs within 16 weeks is great. Don't compare yourself to others; I know easier said than done, but true nonetheless. Your body, hormones and metabolism are all unique to you.
