im three weeks out tomorrow and i begin my mushy food stage. still having hard time getting enough protein in or so i think. i have my shakey things in the am and soup and such at lunch and nites. i go back to work on 4/2 and im sure ill miss the sleeping in late and not getting dressed till absolutely needed. i do enjoy the spring weather and have walked daily at either the duck pond near by or just in the neighborhood. i feel better and have much more energy. i hope the next 3-6 weeks go as smoothly as the first 3. no illness no puking no nothing. just me and soups. and magazines!!! any suggestions for the mushy foods? i have heard refried or black beans in the blender is good as well as really well cooked veggies. ill try the chicken and salmon in the pack and blend well too. i long for the days of chewing! check new pics, not bad if i do say so myself. shelly

Lookin' good, Shelly!! (Go Tigers!) So glad you are having a smooth go at your first weeks following surgery. I'm always happy when I read about those of you who have no troubles whatsoever. When I was finally moved to "mushy" ... I enjoyed refried beans with cheese & a little taco sauce, and cottage cheese with Splenda & cinammon, (And I use the word "enjoy" loosely, since at that stage, i was still not feeling 100%. But those are the foods I liked.) I also would put a lowfat cheese stick (mozzarella) on a plate and microwave it until it got soft and melty. Oh! And lowfat ricotta, with a little marinara sauce and mozzarella, in the microwave until warmed and the cheese is melted ... that's GOOD! Take it easy for your first fews days back at work ... and get ready for an INCREDIBLE year, as your weight drops and your life changes! Dawn

I am so happy for you. I had mine on 2-7, and have not had any problems either. That is so good. I was so glad, that way I didn't have to hear any "I told you so's". Mashed potatoes, refried beans from taco bell, Won-ton soup w/out the won-tons settled my tummy so much. I would get a few bowls and eat that several times a day. for a few days at a time. Apple sauce w/no added sugar, the blue berry flavor is so good. I never put anything in the blender, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Are you going to Myrtle Beach this weekend? I hope so. Deb
