THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU UPSTATE LADIES!
You gals are wonderful! I just want to applaude all of you. I have reading your posts' for MONTHS now, and was just to ashamed......or maybe just shy to post anything myself. It was hearing all of your testimonies that I decided to go through with the surgery. I was scared to death at first, then excited, now I just can't wait to get it started with. I have never seen such support from so many ladies towards each other. It's like.......how can anyone fail at this. I was so glad to finally get to see how beautiful you all are. Seeing your pictures does no justice! I left there tonight feeling as though I had met some big celebrity. I couldn't wait to get home and tell my husband that I saw all these ladies that i have been telling him about all this time. I feel like I am ready for this. I want to look as good as you all do. Thanks soooooo much for telling your stories. I can't wait to see you all again.
Oh Amee,
I wanted to cry when I read your post. I know exactly how you feel. Its so scary and you feel so alone when you are overweight, you wonder so much about WLS, finally decided to make that first scary call, then you meet wonderful people and its so exciting. I'm so happy for you and so proud that you have taken this step. You'll have to come to Charleston with the upstate gal's and meet all of us lowcountry girls. WLS is not easy, its not always fun, but it is a miracle.
Good Luck
Mary

Amee
You are such a sweet heart
. I wish you would have introduced yourself to us. It is easy for me to say that now. When I first went to a meeting....I went to the back row....sat by myself...and left as soon as it was over!!!!!! It is a terrible thing the way our weight makes us feel. I am so glad you were there and was able to see that you have tons of support. We all come from different lives, but we ALL have at least one thing in common and because of that common bond we love and support each other. I am so happy for you and know that we are here for you!!!!!
Melissa

Hi Amee (I love your name ... Amy Ray is one-half of the Indigo Girls, and I'm their biggest fan.
)
Your post is SO sweet! This time last year, I had just started going to support group meetings at Dr. Bour's ... I knew no one. Melissa R started e-mailing me, but it was months before we actually met. I went to my first "after-support" meeting on the night before my surgery, and met a group of what I now consider to be life-long friends. I hope you will join us SOON!
Dawn
