Just a little update on my progress....

Well I'm 1 month 2 weeks out and I was 254lbs the day of surgery size 20/22 pants, 2x/3x blouse, and 44d/dd bra. Today I'm 214lbs and can't tell you what size I wear because I refuse to buy anything or wear anything other than my big clothes until they are nearly falling off of me. I can tell that they are much more loose and feel kind of funny in the thigh area since they are not tightly snug around my legs. My Mom told me that soon my pants will be "pocket knockers" (that's when the pants are so baggy the pockets seem to knock together with each step you take). I have to fasten my bra on the tighest hooks now (I used to have to use the most loose one) and I am fitting into blouses that I have not been able to button in over a year. They button now with room left over. I actually have to pin them closed up top, since I don't have as much boobs to fill it out anymore. I had lots of complications with the surgery and had to have 2 endoscopies done to open my hook-up site. I couldn't eat/drink for 2 straight weeks and got very weak. Almost had to have feeding tube put in but endoscopy was successful (just had the last one on 2/21/07). I purchased a treadmill and can't wait to start using it, I've been too weak to exercise up to this point. Wish me luck, I think things are finally starting to get better. Let me know how you all are doing, I still laugh when I hear people say the WLS is the EASY way out! Robin

I am glad to hear that you are doing better. I am doing good. It's not all easy, having to be creative on what to eat this first month, but I know time will pass this phase and I can only look forward to the future. Deb

Robin, I am glad your feeling better. Congratulations on your success. I dropped off three bags of clothes at Goodwill a few weeks ago. It was so nice to see the old clothes go. I even went inside the store and bought some nice looking shirts and pants a few sizes smaller than i am now to wear when the current clothes get to big. The treadmill gets easier everyday, at first i could just do 5 minutes but each week I went a little longer. Herb
