THERE ARE SO MANY OF US WHO ARE GOING THROUGH HEART-WRENCHING SITUATIONS. LAST NIGHT (WED), NICK & I WENT TO MASS FOR ASH WEDNESDAY, THE BEGINNING OF LENT. WHEN YOU GET ASHES, THE PRIEST REMINDS YOU THAT YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN DUST & TO DUST YOU WILL RETURN ... IN OTHER WORDS, WE WILL DIE. LENT IS A TIME OF REFLECTION & A TIME TO MAKE CHANGES TO IMPROVE ONESELF ... SO, DURING THE SERVICE I GOT TO THINKING ABOUT ALL MY FRIENDS HERE ON THE BOARD WHO ARE FACING SO MANY CHALLENGES ... HERE'S MY QUESTION TO EVERYONE ... IF YOU WERE FACING YOUR LAST DAYS, WHAT WOULD BE SO IMPORTANT TO YOU THAT YOU WOULD STOP EVERYTHING & DO IT? WOULD YOU MAKE AMENDS WITH SOMEONE YOU HURT? SIT SOMEONE DOWN & TELL THEM HOW SPECIAL THEY ARE TO YOU & HOW THEY HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE? DRAW CLOSER TO YOUR GOD ... TO YOUR SPOUSE ... TO YOUR CHILDREN OR FAMILY? WOULD YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS OR TAKE A VACATION? WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING TO MAKE A LASTING DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE? WOULD YOU READ THAT SPECIAL BOOK OR TAKE A CLASS AT COLLEGE? WOULD YOU VOLUNTEER TO HELP THOSE LESS FORTUNATE? WOULD YOU FORGIVE SOMEONE OR ASK FOR FORGIVENESS? WOULD YOU USE YOUR FINEST CHINA & CRYSTAL OR WEAR YOUR MOST ELEGANT NIGHT GOWN? WOULD YOU WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR CHILDREN? WOULD YOU CALL AN OLD AUNT WHO RARELY HEARS FROM ANYONE, WHO LIVES QUIETLY IN LONLINESS? WOULD YOU VISIT OR HELP SOMEONE WHO IS STRUGGLING OR SICK? WOULD YOU COOK A MEAL FOR A NEIGHBOR IN NEED? WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE A SPECIAL GIFT? WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WHY NOT DO IT NOW? ... RIGHT NOW BEFORE EASTER ... AS A WAY TO GLORIFY GOD FOR THIS WONDERFUL LIFE HE HAS GIVEN US? AS A WAY TO START OUR LEGACY ... A LEGACY THAT WILL LEAVE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN IN IT. I'D LOVE TO HEAR WHAT WOULD BE THAT IMPORTANT TO YOU, & EVEN MORE, I'D LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORIES IF YOU TAKE ACTION NOW & ACTUALLY DO THAT THING THAT WOULD BE SO IMPORTANT TO YOU. SHOULD WE NOT LIVE LIFE AS IF IT WERE OUR LAST DAY LEAVING NOTHING IMPORTANT TO TOMORROW IF WE CAN POSSIBLY DO IT TODAY? WHAT WOULD YOU DO? GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Dawn..what a great post. I know a lot of people don't want to hear about God, especially other boards with the exception of the Christianity Board. But God is real and He has existed before time and will for ever whether people believe in Him or not. And Easter which people now call Spring Break or Spring whatever..will always be the Day that God's Son Jesus Christ died once for all that we in choosing Him would have eternal life. With that in mind, I have purposed in my heart and with my life to glorify Christ and serve Him by leaving His fingerprints on the lives God has put in my path. I try to leave every person I come in contact with the sweet fragrance of Christ's love. Loving and serving others is what Christ did while on earth and we as Believers are to follow that example. In Word and Deed. Something as small as s smile, touch, hug, prayer, time. In a world that says.."me,me, me" God says die to self and serve others. Who and how He will guide and show. Just keep eyes open and He will reveal what He wants us to do. Love ya Friend, Joan

I would not be afraid to love......... I would hold my head high and allow myself to be loved......... I would not be afraid to share my faith.......... I would get back to what is important and try to live my life to glorify God........ I wouldn't fret so much about all the "stuff"...my house will never be clean enough, there will always be laundry to do, my closets will always be messy. But time missed with my son or my Dad can never be recaptured. Hugs, Dianne

Dawn- Last week I attended a bible study about love. How it is God's will for us to love others. He not only wants us to love Him, but to love all others. We talked about how if our time on Earth was ending the things most people do more of has to do with relationships. We would strengthen some relationship that we are in. It is so true how we get caught up in all the "stuff" everyday. Imagine what our days would be like if we truly focused on what is important....Jesus.....family...friends. We would be so happy!!!! Our lives would be so fulfilled. We would not have time to focus on the "small" stuff that sometimes seems so important to us. My plan today is to touch someone's life. I want someone else to know how it feels to know the love of Christ. I don't know who that person is. I trust the Lord will lead me to them. I am so excited about this opportunity today. I know the Lord lead me to this board this early this morning. I hardly ever check it while I am waiting for my kids to get ready for school. Thank you Dawn for allowing the Lord to speak to me today through you!!! You are my blessing today!!!! Melissa

Since my sister died unexpectedly 5 years ago at 40 years old, I decided right then and there to start living life to it's fullest. No one ever knows when God is going to call them and I wanted to live my life with as few regrets as possible. So since then I have taken my kids to Disney World, Universal Studios, and just last week we went skiing. I have vowed to be a better person to those around me and to try to make a difference in this world. I try to play with my son more often instead of cleaning the house or watching TV. I am currently teaching an adult how to read. I call my mother every day just to tell her I love her. Our trip last week to the mountains was wonderful. Debbie, her mother, her two sons, and my 2 kids and I all went to the mountains skiing. The whole time we were gone, the motto of the trip was "making memories". Because really that's all we have. I just want to make sure that there are lots of good memories for my kids to have of me when I'm not here anymore. Or, God forbid, they leave before I do. I try not to get caught up in not letting my son get dirty, eating cake for breakfast, running around the house like a wild person, etc. I try to look at him as the amazing, unique person that he is. Soon he will be grown and I will yearn for the days that he made me laugh just by being innocently young. We are now planning a whitewater rafting trip for the summer. I am trying different things that I would like to do at least once. And I want my children to be exposed to these things as well. Life is an adventure and we should all take advantage of it while we are healthy and able-bodied. Take care, Susan

Great post Dawn. I was just talking about this in May's post. There seems to be a season of storms. Storms hurt, and they are scary, but if we never go through the storm, or in the valley, then how do we know God's love when we are on the mountain top or when we come out of the storm. He promises us that we will have peace beyond understanding of we ask. He is always with us, even to those who don't know Him, He is still there for them. Love ya!! Thanks so much!! Deb

I went to a funeral today, My dad's brother. My dad had 14 kids in his family. There is only one sister left in the whole gang. I love the minister that preached today. His name is Scott Eadie. He has preached and been to our church lots of times. There was a grave side service, that lasted a while. He said he had met with my uncle 7 weeks ago, upon my uncles request, and my uncle repented and accepted Christ. I am so happy that now I will be able to see him again in heaven. Alot of my family members from that side of the family are pot smokers, beer drinkers and hell raisers. Paster Scott gave an invitation after a sermon, and 15 people raised their hands that they said the sinners prayer and accepted Christ. 15 PEOPLE!!!!! I just cried. Praise God!!! I have always been afraid that here on earth would be the last I saw so many of them, but praise God, I hope their hearts were right, they will be in heaven too. With the death of my uncle who got saved, 15 others are now saved. What a testamony to leave this earth and have been done. When my dad died, about 12 people were saved. Including me. So I guess my point is, not only is the legacy you live while here on earth, as a child of God important, but the one you leave behind, bringing others to the cross with you, is the most important one of all. Is your heart right with God? Do you know someone you can help to influence to get their heart right?
